Can someone explain cloaking on Facebook?

I think cloaking is one part, the rest depends on whether your ad account has passed review before

The cloaking technique is that they will use a normal image to describe the product and redirect customers to another page when they click on the ad. There are many ways to hide links to avoid Facebook censorship, not just the target page

You can only cloak the landing page, not the actual ad creatives themselves, so Facebook employees will still see the deepfake content in the ad, which is likely to get rejected.

Cloaking on Facebook often involves hiding the actual content of the website that users will be routed to when they click on an ad.

my agency used cover page , when the campaign bit money , they linked to my landing page , can i help you contact them

On my personal FB account, I see ads daily with creatives that should never get approved. Ads with uncensored pornographic content, usually advertising male potency or enhancement drugs. I also see lots of "pig butchering" scam ads, which are ads showcasing attractive women with the goal of the ad to get messaged by potential victims.

The only way I can see this getting approved or staying approved is by an insider. BHW marketplace has a few sellers that provide "Facebook ad approval" for a fee. As others told you already, your ad creative can't be cloaked since that would defeat the purpose of the ad. What does get cloaked sometimes is landing page URL.

If I went about implementing such a LP cloaker, her is how I would do it:

- Until the ad is approved, you are only showing your "clean" page. Any visitor to your tracking link is assumed to be Facebook bot or human reviewer doing its job. Record IP and request headers and add it to your "block list".
- You can automate the step above to collect several such data points and study the patterns. A typical pattern could be same ISP, IP subnet...
- If your visitor has the ability to execute JavaScript, you should come up with a script that collects browser properties of your assumed FB employee visitor. Start by exploring Navigator object to see what identifiable information you are able to collect and later fingerprint for. More about it here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Navigator
- If a visitor doesn't support JavaScript, meaning your document page never requested your JS file or never executed it, always show it a clean page (it is 100% a bot).
- Collecting details about the IP itself can be done via free services such as ip-api.com or you can use something like MaxMind.
- If your ad is targeting a certain region, and it should, you block -> show clean page to any visitor that comes from other regions, because some of them could again be Facebook reviewers.
- Every time your blocking rules are triggered, keep collecting all information about that visitor so you can later expand blocking rules.

This is a rough overview about how such tools are built. Sometimes you can jumpstart your blocking rules by searching for information already shared online. I know there was a big list of Facebook IPs that was shared around years ago. Alternatively, you can find Facebook cloakers in BHW marketplace, but making your own would imho eventually lead to better survivability of your advertising accounts. Eventually tho, you will get banned.

cloaking means using a trick to hide the ads to avoid the ban from the FB Manager

Cloaking for Facebook ads primarily targets the landing pages, not the ad creatives themselves. Facebook’s review system ensures that all ad images/videos comply with their policies, making it nearly impossible to cloak ad creatives directly. The recommended approach is to use compliant (Whitehat) creatives for the ad content and then redirect users to a cloaked landing page containing the desired Blackhat content.

To enhance success rates:
  1. Use advanced cloaking techniques to block IP ranges, bots, and known Facebook reviewers while redirecting users to the real page.
  2. Leverage strong filtering rules with IP reputation tools and browser fingerprinting to distinguish real users from reviewers.
  3. Test creatives that are subtle yet relevant, ensuring they pass Facebook’s initial review without drawing suspicion.
For higher stability, consider agency accounts with better thresholds and support systems, which reduce the risk of immediate bans. These strategies combined can maximize ad longevity while maintaining compliance during reviews. Let me know if you need tailored cloaking solutions or additional insights!

Hiding the campaign will make it easier for you to bypass censorship so your account can operate stably

As I am doing, I am cloaking my landing page with a white page redirecting, for facebook scanning, facebook can only identify it as a white page but for users, it will redirect to the landing page that I am hiding.

From what I understand, you can only cloak the landing pages and not the actual ads themselves - is that correct?

I'm trying to run some ads using deepfakes but I already know Facebook won't approve those. Is the way to get around this by using whitehat images/videos for the ads and then when the target audience clicks on the ad, the cloaked landing page can have all the blackhat stuff (including the deepfakes)?

Or is there a way to cloak the ad creatives we use for Facebook ads too so Facebook employees see a regular image but the target audience can see a deepfake creative?
I know how to cloak landing page, I have seen ads on facebook where ads creatives were cloaked. I mean for targeted audience ads were diffrent but for bot/moderaters,
How to cloak creatives please tell ? any tool or something ??

yes it is a technique to cloak your landing page from meta moderation

it's just a technique to avoid meta detecting your site if your site has been flagged

Cloaking ads, especially to bypass Facebook's policies, is a serious violation of their advertising guidelines and can lead to permanent bans on accounts, Business Managers, and even associated payment methods.

many cloakers work by showing a clean (whitehat) page to Facebook’s reviewers while showing the real (blackhat) page to targeted users. This is the most common method of ad cloaking.

Facebook doesn’t provide a native way to cloak ad creatives, and attempting to serve different creatives to reviewers vs. users (e.g., via JavaScript, geo-fencing, or browser fingerprinting) would be highly detectable and risky.

That said, running deepfake ads on Facebook is almost guaranteed to get flagged under misleading content and manipulated media policies. If you still want to pursue this, consider platforms with fewer restrictions or organic distribution methods instead of paid ads.

it is nearly a given that deepfake advertisements will be reported on Facebook due to modified media policies and misleading content. Consider platforms with less restrictions or organic distribution strategies rather than sponsored advertisements if you still wish to pursue this.
