Can related posts hurt my SEO?

I have a website with about 250+ articles and I use related posts after each article, presenting 3 related articles automatically. Is it bad for my SEO? Would it be better if I completely remove this?

I believe it increases user experience and reduces bounce rate but what about link juice etc.?

Any updates on this question? I keep reading mixed views around the net about this matter..

That is actually a way to interlink your articles on your site and is fine. You would be better linking your articles using KWs on your site from one article to the other.

For instance, if your article is about IM forums and on the page yoursite.com/Internet-marketing-forums and the content reads:

One of the ways I learn how to make a living online is keeping up with the latest methods people use to generate revenue online. I visit the top sites, such as blackhatworld and see what some of the smartest people in the world are doing to make a living from their online ventures.

You want to use related KWs and you want to link to pages in the same category as well.

Yes, this is dubious. However, readers tend to be searching for similar posts/ideas/contents hence the decline in bounce rate and repeated visits - opportunity costs for you to manage.

The better approach would be to exploit Google's Hilltop update from a while back.

Link to TOP authority resources in the same niche as your post's topic

You benefit from some of the authority of the pages you're linking to

Sure, this can be a traffic leak but it won't be if you know how to do it right and you structured your content correctly
