Can PR backlinks harm your website? (400+)

I've found a lot of threads about PR backlinks placement. You can get about 400+ placements. Eventually you'll have 400+ backlinks (********, nofollow). Can this amount of backlink avalanche harm your website? + almost similar texts will appear on those domains.
Maybe someone has any experience in that? Please, share your experience.

P.S. I have 2 websites. One very young (about 2 months) and the other - 17 years.

i don't know, but i wouldn't ask it here
it's like going to mcdonalds to ask if french fries are bad for health :anyway:
expect some biased answers

Maybe someone has used this method and can share their experience.
My question is more about the age of the domain for this PR backlinks.
 
I feel like it shouldn't, if backlinks could hurt your website, what's taking competition from delivering those to your website?
 
Wait, is this a press release blast? It's just temporary increase, most of those press releases end up getting no indexed or removed. They're meant to just be a timely release about something, and if a journalist likes it, then they'll pick it up (very little chance of that these days)

Exactly
Those PRs are just temporary, most of them are removed after a while, so don't expect major relevance on long term for your website

Interesting. No one says anything about this in their ads.
Can you please tell me more about it? So after the PRs are published, they live for some time and then get deleted?
 
Today I have +400+ backlinks and 1-2 years I have -400+ backlinks :)
interesting and definitely not good for my backlink profile...

If PR links are of high quality, they add as a fuel to your website. Some very reputable PR agencies charge a huge amount for this like thousands of dollars. Many people cannot afford this. But there are also some other agencies who do not charge so much big amount and provide low quality PR release.

Many of low quality links do not even get indexed. And this is something which can be answered by either person who has used this kind of service or someone who have found any website with such kind of links. But yes bloggers use PR links even of low quality. What you can do here is ask someone with PR package suitable to your budget. You will get an intital boost for sure but why not use service like guest post on a good website instead of PR service.

Somewhere days, somewhere years. The seller told me about 1-2 year lifetime of backlinks.

I've never used the guest post strategy. And the prices aren't so attractive (compare with those PR packages)
Plus, guest posting is expensive. Who will take less money than he can earn through the platform like Adsy, etc.

The simple answer is NO.
Those are natural links and not all PRs will index.
Syndication is a normal practice and Google is well aware of it.
I've been using PRs for a long time and never had a problem with them.
Actually, if PRs are done right, you'll get some decent traffic and brand coverage.

As he said, it's safe to do it. Do it for a homepage for more brand awerenes. :)
 
Yes, too many PR backlinks (like 400+) can hurt your website if they are low quality or built too fast. Google may see it as spammy or unnatural link building, which can lead to a ranking drop or even penalties.

It is safer to build links slowly, from trusted news sites, and use natural anchor texts. Quality matters more than quantity in SEO.
