Yeah, you can acheive it but need to invest on huge set of PBNs with high metircs quality . First need to check your target site condition and then decide howmany links will be helpfult for you.

Also, continues link building only makes the impacts for your keyword.

If you go with homepage text link on PBN that could be the best Option to GO!

It's possible and the high quality PBNs are still effective. But solely relying on them is risky. If Google identifies the network/pattern, it will punish the site for sure.

But just 20 - 40 sites are not possible I think. They may have more quality links from other sources and redirected their old site to the new site.

Try a mix of other backlinks as well, like niche guest posts and traffic sites, to achieve better results.
