Ok, I got a situation where UPS has confirmed the delivery as successfully delivered. It says it was left at the front desk (sounds like it was an office or building) and was RECEIVED by: Talia

A few days later, the buyer contacts me saying they never received the item. They start asking me to send them a proof of signature so they can confirm it. The UPS delivery method isn't a signature one. It does say that it was received by the person "Talia". The buyer actually knows this person because I asked them if the spoke to "Talia". Buyer said Talia denies ever receiving a package.

My question is, how on earth could UPS know her name and write down "received by Talia" and then the buyer tells me Talia doesn't know about it? That's why they are asking for a signature but they probably know I can't provide one. I told them it's more likely that Talia has either misplaced the item/box or there's something fishy going on (someone is lying).

If buyer decides to open a case and escalate to ebay, will ebay favor me because I provided full tracking and proof of delivery, even though with no signature? Or will ebay favor the buyer for as long as there is no signature, even a CONFIRMED SUCCESSFUL DELIVERY status on the tracking will not be good enough to win?

Who will win the case?

They should favour you as you provided full tracking

If a buyer reports that an item hasn't been received
If you ship an item within your stated handling time and provide tracking information to the buyer before you or the buyer asks us to step in and help with a request, you're protected.
Tracking information needs to include:
  1. A delivery status of "delivered"

  2. The date of delivery

  3. The recipient's address

  4. Signature confirmation, if an item has a total cost of $750 or more

I have 1 to 3 met.
But I don't have 4 (signature) because the item is only $30. Am I good?

Ebay most likely will cover this out of their pocket, as you are protected.

If the buyer would claim something else, then they most likely would ask you to cover the refund to the buyer.

1. Signature is only required in packages over $750

2. Having delivery confirmation buyer claiming non delivery is the ONE situation where eBay will side with sellers.

I had a buyer try this one.......when I asked him to open an "item not received" case he disappeared.
