blender isnt loading for me, but in the meantime, another photoshop alternative if you dont like GIMP, is:

Photoshop is best software to create immage for website. The others, i doubt it

i think artisteer is complete crap. it may have been fine years ago, but there are much better options now imo.

i like using theme frameworks (genesis is my favorite) then i take the existing child themes and modify them using dreamweaver....and photoshop but only to make logos/banners/header backgrounds etc...i don't use photoshop to design a wordpress template from scratch anymore.

i'm assuming you don't want to use any adobe products, or else i would have suggested fireworks (which i have used in the past to design websites and templates). Photoshop was originally intended to be photo editing software, but it ballooned to be much more. Fireworks is more like photoshop's little sister that can be ideal for web design...

I've worked for some time as freelance html/css coder slicing site image mockups to html/css, and i've used both FW and PS. PS is great tool, but it's not best for this kind of job.

you're right....photoshop is best for image manipulation....but for website template creation? there are others that are just as good
