Obviously, if google can translate music in real time and your voice and facebook can know how many persons are in a photo why Google shouldn't able to detect?
Of course they can, if they can translate in real time music lyrics and many more why they can't detect A.I
Now detect A.I doesn't mean that they will penalize you...They could detect A.I and don't penalize you.. if they want

Doesn't matter...AI content it's just a bunch of words, nobody can detect if a bunch of (well and organized, like Open Ai-3) words was written by you, me, a robot, a pakistani fiverr freelancer or a human in general.
What Google can do (and already does) is identify patterns of behavior, such as repetitive content, perfectly matched keywords as H2 literally thirty times in the same article, low quality content, and sites with poor design/usability.

Google probably can, but not with 100% certainty. They probably use something internally to flag for manual reviews. My guess is they haven't rolled out an update yet, to avoid penalizing legitimate sites.
I'm not an SEO person, but spoke to someone at a large agency about this recently. Apparently there are common "footprints" with AI content. Not in the text, but style of writing. Most likely, AI content will keep getting better, change, adapt and it'll take some time for Google to be ready to hit these sites hard.

Do not decide based on exceptions.
Since they are actually able to detect bad content, that is why lot of spammers are having trouble making money with Google adsense now. Genuine working people are very less, most are looking for shortcuts.

I am not seeing spammers having difficulty in making money. It has become even easier for them. As for the quality content creators, it is totally opposite as their sites get hits after hits and get removed from the serps.

AI is an algorithm and algorithm's can be reversed engineered.
I own / have owned multiple different AI sites and have had some of them completely de-indexed overnight.
Google can detect most AI sites, mainly because most AI sites use a model that is available for rent. Just because the really good ones can go undetected for a year or so, doesn't mean Google can not detect AI.
Unless you have a source that proves Google can not detect AI sites at all, why would you think they can't detect spun content?
