Can Google detect translated content as duplicate ?

Google is pretty smart, and it can detect duplicate content even if it's in another language. So, translating English top ranking content to your French blog without adding any unique value might not fly with the search engine. To avoid any penalties, it's best to provide original and valuable content in French that's not just a direct translation.

Hi, my idea is to translate some English top ranking content to one of my French blog but my question is : Can Google detect this as duplicate content even if it's in another language ?
No,translated content is not considered duplicate content. But You need to be very careful when it comes to translating duplicate content. If you are not careful, that will affect your website ranking, or you will get penalized by google.

Yes, Google can detect translated content as duplicate if it is a direct translation without any modifications or if it is translated using automated tools that produce low-quality translations. However, if the translated content has been properly edited and adapted to fit the target audience, it is less likely to be flagged as duplicate content. It is always recommended to use human translators or professional translation services to ensure high-quality translations that are unique and relevant to the target audience.

NO and Google will not tag your translated content as duplicate content because when you do translation right, there will be changes in the overall content and that can be considered as “new.”

Can't detect it but you can translate it and use a paraphrasing tool and change everyhting, always make sure it makes sence and then post it so you avoid any sour experience.

Google is capable of recognizing machine-translated content, even more so if you use their translators

Google doesn't detect it as duplicate content. Because when you do translation right, there will be changes in the overall content that can be considered as new.
Yes, but if n translate the same content there will be an issue.

Google's sophisticated algorithms can detect content duplicate, including translations.
In order to find commonalities, it examines the text's organizational structures and compares translated and original content.

But their sophisticated algos are ruining more and more white hat sites and promoting black hat so sorry to say when I hear this from people I crack up laughing. I mean this is a black hat forum so its a positive that black hat wins over white hat with google. Look at the case of that person who scraped Amazon and made what 19k USD a day before Google intervened manually with the oldest trick in the book, how are those algos going at Google?

And people worry about Google penalizing over minor stuff, you'll probably get take a hit doing things right anyway such is web life post 2020.
