Hi, my idea is to translate some English top ranking content to one of my French blog but my question is : Can Google detect this as duplicate content even if it's in another language ?
Can Google detect translated content as duplicate ?

google does not check this. Just before you make sure that content hasn't been translated by someone else and check if it's translated correctly.

True. I am running a multilingual site with main content being in English and secondary language is Spanish. Spanish version is a pure translation of English content. Even if Google knows that it is translated, it does not punish it.

can google detect too what you had for a breakfast today? Don't ever think of buying links to rank, google can detect that too as it scans your mind the moment you visit google.com, they can see though be careful

But if your translated content has quality, they don't give a shit.
They just care if the content is acceptable and audience will be retained in our website and more prone to click on the ads.
Your breakfast is really more important, at least with that they will show you some ads about oatmeal and porridge brands.

Google can detect duplicate content even if it's in another language, But You can rewrite it Completely and then if you translate it then it will not be a problem
but I am not much happy with the translators, even if they are developed than earlier, It will not able to beat human translations so far

Maybe or maybe not but who cares? There are a ton of websites that are ranking high with translated content and that's all you need to know.
I would worry more about the quality of the translation and time needed to edit the content to make it sound natural and for it to make sense.
If you find a way to do it that doesn't take much of your time or better yet automate the whole thing it's certainly worth a try. As always, only one way to make sure, test and see for yourself.

Translated is ok, just do not translate your content using something like gtranslate.io and then do all 104 languages as you will get hit in a hcu or defo an October 2022 spam update since for example imagine 2k English posts/pages suddenly x 104 times, yeah google hates this since it low quality, like Spanish translation will be great compared to like zulu or something similar so you'll devalue the good translations.
Using Spanish, French etc like languages that are popular and translate well automatically you will be fine.

Google doesn't detect it as duplicate content. Because when you do translation right, there will be changes in the overall content that can be considered as new.

definitely it can if you use google translate. But if you do it personally, then it will work.
