can anyone explain what the difference between white hat & blak hat?

Actually, since Google at any time can flip a switch and making something "wrong" then Whitehatters can get
penalized to later on.
Your post made me curious about something. If Google deems a white hat tactic as 'wrong', would it now be considered a black hat tactic? And if a white hat tactic were deemed as wrong, would those white hatters be considered black (or grey) hatters?

As far as I know Google doesn't want you to build any links at all. And since either white hat and black hat are methods of link building by you or a SEO that you pay for, I don't see any difference at all by now...

The difference is that you want to let the site owner knows that you want an link to your site from his site when you are doing white hat backlinking, and on the other hand you hope the site owner never know you have place a backlink on his site when doing blackhat, when you do this politely, you are doing grey hat, other ways, completely blackhat.

Yes. You are exactly right and that is why someone who kisses Googles ass is not completely safe either.

As far as G are concerned: As soon as you know there are hats, you are black hat.

On the automation point from the OP: automation pretty much guarantees you are doing something blackhat, but you are probably just automating something that was black hat already.

White hat is buying adwords.

Everything else you do to rank which DOES work is considered Black Hat.

The crap seo blogs and google tell you do to do NOT work to make $$$ online.

If you build links then it's called Blackhat

White hat - I haven't heard this word yet :)
