Can anybody help me analyzing a site?

Can anybody help analyzing a site ranking position #1 for a certain 2 word phrase?

I checked the on-site optimization, backlinks and keywords in URL.

It got less backlinks than my site, less link juice it receives and the code is horrible. The 2-word phrase I want to compete for gets mentioned about 3 or 4 times on that page. The urls are cryptic (no mod-rewrite or such) and still it got the number #1 spot for a long time.

Keyword in the domain name? Better quality links? It might also be older than your site. The whois does not show much for some reason.

it 's not first on the.com domain, so it 's a local issue. Optimize it for your local google.

Same locality, but I've got a hell lot of more *better* backlinks + mod rewrite and valid semantical correct html and about the same domain age. Just wondering if I missed something. Thank you for your time!

Your good backlinks are .de or other? I'd suggest you make a few strong .de backlinks. If not, go for links on pages that have PR2 or higher on any domain.
Made that bold because it's that page's PR that counts, not the domain 's. Also, the quantity is irrelevant, aim for quality.

I know quite a bit about backlinks PR etc. Got a lot of PR 2 to PR 6 do follows. Hard to get .de ones, tho. Thank you!
