Can 2000 words content outrank 3000 words?

I see in many niches top results are 3000+ of content. Can you outrank with 2000 words content? Also, can fresh domain 6-8 months outrank 4-5 years old?
Yep, 2000 words can do the trick if it's perfect to the long and while older websites have a head start, newer ones can still win if they're really good and get noticed

In some cases 2000-word content can outrank a 3000-word one if it's more relevant and better optimized and a newer domain can outrank older ones with strong SEO and quality content.

top results are 3000+ of content.
These are just outliers. And correlation doesn't equal causation. Longer contents used to win prior to 2017; now it's all about links and user engagement.

The organization and word count of your content is important, but at the end of the day, Google knows what it wants.

How is your traffic coming to your posts, how is your domain doing, how many backlinks are there to your content

Try using a variety of tools to get your articles on page 1 of Google in the markets you want to target.

I've seen high authority sites with 400 words outrank 5,000 words. In competitive niches, doesn't matter how good you content is without high authority, as there could be hundreds of competitors that have alll done the same topic, and some could have hundreds of thousands and possibly millions of backlinks.
