I have been running a campaign with keywords and it was not restricted when I published it. Now the keywords are restricted and my ads as well. Why in the matter of a few weeks? It's making things kinda complicated for me because my account can't run other ads. Can this happen regularly? and what triggers this for you?

This is a very common issue. You should check the reason why your account was restricted. Submit an appeal for review; if your account is completely compliant, Google will reactivate it. If you violated the policies, then you should create another account.

Was it black hat? Did you cloak your campaign? Maybe it got flagged. You will need another account, and based on your niche, a cloaker. Sometimes, you can remain live but it's just because you're lucky. That's why I strongly recommend cloaking.

If these are BH keywords, then 2 weeks is even good! If not, file an appeal and most likely they will unblock you.

I’d suggest filing an appeal, most of the time they’ll lift the restriction. Keep an eye on what triggers changes so you can plan future campaigns more safely.

Yes, this happens if you are in a sensitive niche or use borderline keywords. That’s why advertisers usually keep a backup plan and have multiple campaigns ready in advance.

Yes, this can happen. Google updates its policies and reviews continuously, so keywords that were fine before can become restricted later. It’s usually triggered by policy updates or automated re-checks of your ads and landing page.

Yes, this can happen regularly, especially for campaigns in regulated industries like finance, health, or adult. Accounts can get paused, restricted, or banned even if previous ads ran fine, that’s why many advertisers use extra accounts as backups.

This usually happens when your account hits a manual review threshold or your domain's trust score drops. If your keywords were fine at first, Google's AI likely flagged a change in your landing page content or a high user-report rate, which triggered the restriction.

I've also experienced this situation: initially, the ads ran normally, but after a few weeks, they were restricted because the system reviewed all the ads and keywords.
This is usually because the content or landing page was at a "sensitive" level; it initially passed but was later reviewed and limited.
This is quite common; you just need to revise the content to be clearer and "safer," then resubmit for review, and everything should be fine.

Yes happens a lot after review cycles. Google rechecks keywords and flags based on niche or landing page. Even small changes or reports can trigger it later.

Your ads got restricted because the platform changed its rules or checked your campaign again. Sometimes, ads get flagged after a few weeks because of new rules or automatic checks.
This can happen often, especially with rule changes. You can check the rules, appeal the restriction, or change your keywords to fix the issue.

Google updates restricted categories regularly and retroactively flags campaigns that were fine before. Pause the restricted keywords, swap for compliant ones, and your account should free up. If it's fully frozen, appeal and show you've removed the violations.

yeah bro this happens a lot, platform rules keep updating and sometimes keywords get flagged later even if they were fine before, also could be competitors reporting or algo rechecking your ads, once something gets restricted it can affect whole account.

I see this problem happening quite often because ads and keywords can be reviewed after a while.

I've seen this happen before. It’s possible Facebook updated their scanning algorithms or policies, causing your ads to trigger a violation and get banned. There’s also a chance the account was reported. I’m actually looking into this further to get a clearer answer too.

Yes, it’s normal.

Why it happens:

  • Google Ads re-reviews ads over time
  • Policy updates get stricter
  • Landing page changes trigger flags
  • Risk signals from your account
  • “Sensitive” keywords (finance, health, replica, etc.)
Result:
Keywords + ads get restricted later, even if approved before.

Tip:
Check landing page + avoid risky keywords + keep account stable.

This happens because platforms rescan keywords and policies over time not just at launch
New trademark complaints policy updates landing page changes or trust score shifts can retroactively restrict old campaigns even if they were fine before

Yeah, I've seen this kind of pattern a lot more lately.

When a campaign runs fine for a while and then suddenly gets hit with keyword restrictions or ad restrictions, it usually means Google has started re-scoring the combination of keyword intent, landing page signals, account history, and overall trust profile — not just the individual ads in isolation.

A lot of people try to treat it like a single-policy issue, but once that risk profile shifts, the whole setup tends to get more fragile from there.
