Bypassing amazonaws 'Access Denied' – can it be done?

Would be keen on any tools or mechanisms you guys have used to bypass Amazon webhosting's "Access denied" on a bucket level (i.e. "asite.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com").

I've tried using the popular S3 ripper, but to no avail. Would greatly appreciate any insights!
