The good news for developers is that the next time someone asks them when Ethereum 2.0 is coming, they'll have an answer: Never.
ETH2.0 is no more. Now it's "execution layer" and "consensus layer" and it's almost certainly happening sometime in 2022 or afterwards.

Okay but isn't this just semantics? Fundamentals it's still Eth 2.0
 
I'm confused so are you saying that eth 2.0 will never become pos (proof of stake) ?

apparently, admittedly... "a critical shift in Ethereum has been the movement away from ‘Eth1’ and ‘Eth2’ terminology. As of late 2021, core developers stopped using the terminology, preferring ‘execution layer’ and ‘consensus layer’, respectively"
