Hello guys,
Next summer I'm going to start my IM carrier again(I already had some success in the past), I don't have much time now, because I'm doing my last year in school. But I have an idea: I'm thinking about buying 10-15 domains, then putting on 1500-2000 words of content on each one, so basically setting something up like MNS sites. I will do the onpage seo properly, but I won't do any artificial backlinking. Why? My only goal is to let these domains age, so things will be quicker when I start building out the real sites on the domains. Google love aged domains, dont they?
So what do you think? Is it worth doing?

Only way to know for sure is to try. That said, most sites rank well after 6 months. So if you buy those domains, index them, and let them age for 6 months, they are likely to reach the top much faster than new domain names.

Yeah google definitely love the aged domains rather than new domains. But use some seo techniques

I have plenty of domains sat round ageing in accounts, however I do not make sites with them or add content, I just leave them ageing in my account. Ageing them with content could see your domain getting slapped before you have even used it.

It may be a good idea, but you may also want to add content slowly while your domains age.

Yes it will work as long as you show some patience when you do start building links to them.

you can buy 20 year old clean domain for easy $10.

Its not a bad idea, but then again, its quite easy to find recently expired domains with the same qualities.

Hi sexaku, it's really good idea but updating the domain with the new contents simultaneously,it will be more good. For this lengthy process you can get expired domains with the good quality as per your wish. Starting from the begging by your own is really appreciable but there is another simple way to go.

Hi guys,
Thank you all for the helpful advices!

Hi 7th Sense and all the other guys saying I should just buy aged domains,
I know it would be a lot faster and easier, but as I said, the next time I can truly focus on IM will be next june. Until then, I won't have enough time to care about business, so I dont need these domains immediately. I can wait, and I'm pretty sure buying domains at registration fee is cheaper than aged ones, and their backlink profiles will be absolutely ok for my standards, because I build them.

A better idea is to make one informative 1k article for the homepage only. The site will rank for intended query and you can add to it later.

This way you dont have to throw the article out when you decide to rewrite the homepage and have a google dance as well.

I do this quite often, it does get the sandbox time out of the way,

The problem with buying existing domains is that you may not be able to find the right one.

Yes this is what many seos do nowadays as you need to mature your new domains for at least 3 months before they could give reliable rankings.

This is what I do and I probably have 200 sitting peacefully getting liver spots and wrinkles.

Great idea. That said, changing content on the homepage of a site cannot cause a Google dance. It will either make the site rise slightly in the SERPs or do nothing.

Anyhow, I have a bunch of them ( maybe 50+)and if someone were to share step by step directions of what to do, I could test some of the changes on domains to see what happens. I guess A/B testing

My pages are more themed by segmentation in the electrical field like commercial electrician, institutional, etc ..... One goes back to 2007 and the rest 2010 to 2012.
