Buying Domain - How much does DA matter

I don't understand how people put their domain on sale on sedo.
Is that basis of domain authority or the name. Even generic names are asking 2000 with no DA PA and get sold.
Some domains which has good DA but people are not likely to buy.

I compare two domains here.

1. shopmarmalade that is on sedo. 150USD while DA is 18
2. warenshop.com that is also for sale but over 3k usd. DA is 1

what all do you guys see before buying a domain apart from the web archive and DA PA?

First of all ignore DA/PA completely. This is good just for initial sorting, and even then DR is better.

Then the domains are generally 2 kinds:
SEO domains - domains with history and links. The better the links, and the more competitive the niche, the more expensive the domain. Bonus high traffic in the past.
"Name" domains - domains that are valuable for their name, regardless of their links. Usually is because keywords in the name, shortness etc.

Ideally you can find a domain with both, but those tend to cost a LOT and are very rare.
