According to me doing spamy links for competitor is waste of time and money. Meanwhile you can spend quality time to get backlinks for your own websites so that it leads to traffic and sales.

Google(John) already told in hangout that even if you have spam links, They will just ignore it.. That time is gone when you try to bring someone's website down by doing spam link to their domain. Google will not consider it... It will your waste of money and time. Better work on own site. Bring out more high DA d0follow links to your site. That will be more effective.

Like on 1 site u work for more then 1 year and any person build spam Link for it and descrease your earning so how you feel ??

All going well for 45 to 50 days but after sometime some one spam. My site..
And all earning I loss
That is awful! I really hope people don't do this. Why can't people just work hard and help each other be successful? There enough out there for people to have success. If you are putting in time to bring someone else down you aren't doing enough to bring yourself up. There will always be someone there growing while you stay the same. You can't take everyone down so the best thing people should look to do is just work on bringing their site up!

While you may be true. But he/she wants to do negative seo, guess that's some work too(more or less). And he is doing it for climbing up the ranking, OP is just on a path seen as evil by others. Either way putting up a solid plan on both +ve or -ve seo will yield result

For me I really don't like these tactics. And I think the only negative effect would be on DA/PA TF and CF/TF ratio too. These tools take that into account still but Google just ignores crap links now instead of damaging their rankings. I know this as one of my main money sites was hit with a ' negative seo attack ' last year and all that happened were my metrics dropped but not my rank. I did a lot if research into it and if you look on googkes webmaster forum they say the same, they don't recognize the term negative seo attack either. It's just a low thing to do. If you cant rank a site with real skill and only bring sites down, that's not a long term income strategy

nah , they removed one way to get rid of ur competitor, there are more ways to do it though

Op analyze your comps backlinks using Ahrefs or other similar tools.. And then do what they do and get better and more powerful backlinks to your money site.. That is how we get to the top of serps..

I wish you could see the links mentioned in google search console for #1 positions for lots of niches. You would then tons of shitty links and no use of disavow tool. there are tons of shitty backlinks that the owner of the site has no role in gaining. lots of link farms. google ignores them
i was just going to refer the OP to your post. it seems google keeps saying it lots of different ways: they count links from relevant pages and pretty much ignore the rest.

Personally I'd never never target a competitor that way. Would I would do though is create a large number of parasites to outrank them. I would much rather do that than destroy their hard work. At least by outranking them, they still have a chance to improve their ranking again by a variety of means, and I quite enjoy the back and forth with competing with others in the same niche.
