Business Account vs Personal

Has anyone done long tests on whether or not Instagram reduces your visibility, reach, and impressions if you have a business account as opposed to a personal one?

Are there other analytics tools that can be used if I swapped back to a personal account so that I could see where the impressions, reach, and engagement are coming from?

Great question. I never really looked at it from this angle and have been using business accounts exclusively. Waiting to see other people's response on this matter.
 
I was just going to post this very question, I have some solid pure IG accounts that are aged, zero botting, and I am hesitant to turn on business for them... love to hear some more experienced advice in this topic.

Seems like we've got people waiting to hear, but no answers haha. I've read almost everything that's been posted somewhere on Google, but it'd be nice to see the actually data or results that someone achieved.
 
I am not a i insta geek but i saw peoples here who claim that after convert personal account to business they noticed drop actually because instagram consider them as a business

That makes sense from a practical point of view and it's my gut feeling. Odds are you are right
 
There have been a lot of threads on this but the answers still seem mixed. Some people swear it is an engagement killer while others say they didn't notice much change at all.
 
I believe that over time, post impressions for uploads from business accounts decline as a part of IG's initiative to increase the "ad spending" from these accounts. I've concluded this from first-hand experience between using traditional and business accounts.

LOL I lurked a lotttt and just never posted. I honestly forgot I had an account until a few months ago

I just swapped from business to personal after a week of using business and not seeing a single good results, so we'll see how I do.
 
I used to care about that, but I realized:
I have grown from getting 5-15 followers a day from botting, to about 150-200 from botting, and I dont see why I cant continue to improve.

Fuck Instagram, you can limit me or not, when I get to 100k with my same engagement rate you will have no choice but to put me on explore lmao.
 
I was shadowbanned on 3 business accounts and when i switched them to personal within a week my engagement was back up to normal. It may be speculation but i think IG wants business pages to buy ads as they don’t want accounts profiting from the platform if they’re not profiting as well.
 
I don't think you can compare Instagram to FB. It's much more a creators' network, meaning that many people come to instagram to consume beautiful/interesting images/videos more so than to see what their cousins are up to. Given that a huge number of influencers have switched to business profiles, it would be a suicide for instagram to dramatically drop reach for all business profiles without discrimination. The end game is to have their users spend as much time as possible on the platform, which would be a hard fit to accomplish without showing people quality content that comes from business profiles of so-called influencers. If you are using Instagram to sell products/services, that's a whole different story; i'd definitely get your wallet ready to pay for those ads.
