Bump Your Thread For $1.00

Should we have the option to bump our thread for ($x.xx)

This cannot be beneficial because it is just an additional cost that is useless and confusing to buyers and ultimately that their buyer-favored service is a non-natural pattern of demand or quality.

What a badly worded question.

I'm hoping you mean a seller can pay to bump their own thread more frequently than the 72 hour rule?

Surely you're not suggesting any member can be paid to bump threads?

Negative, I was trying to make suggestion to the forum to ask others whether or not they would think its a good idea to add a feature like (Bump Thread for $x.xx). Doing this, the owner of the thread can bump it and pay BHW a $x.xx fee to bump it.

Sorry if it was a bit unclear

How often would the thread bump take place? Could you buy it once an hour/day/week?

The "sticky post" feature is already there if you want to pay for more exposure. Plus you can bump your own posts once every 72 hours for free.

Don’t agree with straight up paying to bump.

What I agree with is earning “currency” through being an active member and posting. You wouldn’t earn it for bumping sales threads or other low quality posts.

Lets call it BHW Gold for this example. Say you make 100 quality posts this earns you X BHW Gold.

You could spend your BHW Gold to get early bumps, and anything else BHW would want to include.

Thats my 2 cents

Why is that a racist remark?
Because somehow it was more important that they are Indians rather than freelancers/service providers on this forum. Like that is their defining characteristics which will help us gauge their behaviour.

Not to mention, the way he formulated the rhetoric had a subtle hint of ridicule.

So subtly ridiculing 1/7th population of the world, with something that is not their defining attributes. Sounds pretty fucking stupid if not racist.

You can pay for the banner on top of the site or ‘please read’.

Paid bump might be a good idea, but should cost no less than a $100 and should be limited to X times.

Annoying threads or users can be ignored so if you’re not interested in service - it could be hidden.

There is already an addon for Xen that allows you to self bump or paid bump. Which will be more regulated than a pure spam of users.

The idea is great, but you should be only allowed to bump your thread once a day!

But if everyone starts hiding sales threads it pointless for sellers to pay. Soon everyone will get fed up with the bumping, complaining by sellers and users and more would drift away.
New users would see you have to pay for upgrade+sales thread free+bumping costs. Selling costs on here will go high as sellers race to out do each other

No, a lot of trouble will be there with this.

That’s exactly my point.

This will only result in increasing numbers of garbage clone accounts created to bump their thread once or twice (and no not all of them will get caught multi-accounting, only the dumbest).
What I'd suggest to @Diamond Damien in case they want to hear from the community regarding bumping matters is a rule to forbid nonsense posting like "hey bro good luck with your sales" etc as well as sellers encouraging their clients to post transaction ID upon paying for their service. The latter seems especially dumb, it only create alot of noise while such things could be maintained through private message system of the forum or whatever way the seller wants to be contacted by customers. Good news: this doesn't happen a lot, at least not so often to really bug and therefore perhaps it doesn't deserve a new rule but I'd at least consider this.

You don't mean something like
" Please let me know, I am interested. "

No. I do not like the idea.
Keep things the way they are please!

Go make rules in other place, not here. Bye.

We are a community and unless we pitch thoughts and ideas as to what we think would help or is hurting in this section we are losing out on the value of the community's thoughts.

Good idea from the OP?

Not sure but this section is set up to hear forum suggestions in part.

Should we stifle that we hurt the aspect of serving the community as they want to be served.

A living organism, as is this forum, has ebbs and flows and will change over time and those that share ideas are welcome to do so even if many disagree. That is how things get done IRL as well as online in any business. I can tell you I've had heated discussions with bosses and employees at times about how things should be as well as civil ones and we all left with a more well rounded idea as to what was best for our business.

Give the guy a break; he is offering an idea and not making rules.

Dear I meant the sales threads only. The link you posted was a giveaway where the op asked people to post if they're interested in his method.
When sales threads become cluttered with those "hey bro good luck with your service" or other bs it is cumbersome to find actual reviews or useful info.
