HI All,

I am planning to setup a VPS based (outgoing only) bulk email setup to send roughly 1-2 million emails daily. I just can't get milked by Constant Contact any further. I have run out of juice. Can some one give me a drop down on:

Is it better to opt for multiple SMTP instead of 1?
Is there a need for multiple IP during the warming up stage? Does rotating IP actually help?
Also, do I need to have separate domains linked to each rotating IP?
Does it make sense to hook up all rotating IPs through a few sub domains?
Does using sub domains actually makes sense?
can i setup a single domain with multiple IP? also, is there a limit to how many IP i can allocate per domain?
Does it make sense to do this? What is the ideal setup scenario (except for me staying out of this and stick to watching TV, of course!!!... I know that one, thanks)
I am planning to use the PMTA. Does PMTA allow multiple SMTP and rotating IP management through the management console?
Can someone please help me figuring out these issues?

To answer your questions:

For that volume, you definitely need to be set up on

Is there a need for multiple IP during the warming up stage? Does rotating IP actually help?
Yes, IP rotation is very necessary. This will depend though on the ISP recipients in your email list
We may need to assess this one on one and see whether a multiple ip rotation is the best fit kind of setup for you.

Also, do I need to have separate domains linked to each rotating IP?
No. Usually rotating IPs are setup as Mail transfer agents for your server.
These are subdomains setup and mapped to each IP.
Note: Each IP will be building a reputation of its own and thus it is necessary to keep track

Does it make sense to hook up all rotating IPs through a few sub domains? See above.

Does using sub domains actually makes sense?
Yes, that is how MTAs are designed.

can i setup a single domain with multiple IP?
also, is there a limit to how many IP i can allocate per domain?
Yes, there is a limit.. . But I say this depends on a number of factors
It is hard to quantify this by just saying you wanna shoot 1 milli..

Does it make sense to do this?
What is the ideal setup scenario (except for me staying out of this and stick to watching TV, of course!!!... I know that one, thanks)
Well, this is your business and even if you completely hired one to do this, don't go watching TV lol. You will need to keep track of your business and
get systems in place. The sweet spot is that you can automate the whole system once you get it up n running smoothly.
Starting up though will eat on your time etc. You MUST know what happens when event X happens.. and when to escalate an issue etc.
Setups is pretty much the smaller piece of the puzzle(Correct setup is very important though). It is the maintenance... that is key.

I am planning to use the PMTA. Does PMTA allow multiple SMTP and rotating IP management through the management console?
Yes, PMTA is the dude in the game. It is One of the best - Recommended, there are other solutions though like Greenarrow etc,

Can someone please help me figuring out these issues?
Yes I can.. Hit me up anytime.
