Built 10 sites- 2 earning $30-40 per month, 8 ZERO. What next?

I've been creating word press affiliate sites for couple of months now.
2 are doing quite well (good keyword phrased domains, just as everyone here says, time spent on niche and url worth every minute spent. They get good traffic, good Google rank~10k visitors per month. Sales from Amazon/Adsense/Clickbank c $50 per month).
The other 8 are useless, 200 visitors per month, no sales.

Can I pick your brains, What next?
Do I:

crack on building more sites, some work, some don't...but I can do that quickly?
spend time getting traffic to the useless ones...links not my strength and take time?
write good content on the ones earning dosh...will that help?
OR anything else?

Build more sites defo, if some work then it is more money. Where as taking the time getting the other sites to make money can be frustrating, also the useless sites may be useless because the keywords your trying to rank could have high competition or they don't get enough traffic. But more sites should be a great way forward for you. Good Luck!

Dont send traffic. Do onpage seo on those 8 sites and create some more. If they don't convert after 6 months you can just .sell them

Pareto's principle at its finest. Examine what is working on your 2 sites and why it is working, then try to apply them to your other 8 sites. The 2 successful sites must have something in common that separates them from the other 8. I would take the time to investigate what makes your 2 sites successful before building any more sites. Without knowing what works, you will end up wasting time building more sites that are not likely to succeed.

Add some adsense to those sites that aren't getting any sales and keep building them slowly.

After a couple of months, flip those and keep the ones that are making money.

I was doing much better with Amazon...then for some reason mid June with traffic still going up on my sites the click through to Amazon bombed. So, I added Adsense...Amazon looks like it's starting to build again.

Yea, you need to optimize those pages buddy. You said you have amazon, adsense, and clickbank on it... so maybe find out what's converting the highest, and then capitalize specifically on that affiliate. Build your content towards that offer and give it premium placements throughout your site. If you're interested you can pm me and I can help you out with that.

I would try to research abit more the successful ones and try to apply to the weak ones - after that if they don't turn around I would not waste too much time on them and build more.

Also I would be careful about having too many ads on my site so it's overkill

It maybe its the old marketing/seo/im/etc. saying:

"better rank for keyword "justin bieber's shoes" than keyword "justin bieber" itself..." the one is buying the other is not!

I personally believe using a premium theme makes all the difference --- but study the 2 good ones and try to duplicate that elsewhere ... as my thread says - try for quality and use less autoposting type solutions for longer term income.

a few people still say they are doing well with pure autoblogs - but for me you gotta hide/protect them.

Create more and work on thoses existing sites. If you build 10 and 2 produce then i still consider it a win because atleast you have 2 that are producing. If you build another ten you could get 5 to produce. and while those 5 are producing you can seo the crap out of the original 8 to get them to produce for you. positive cycle, keep producing.

I definitely agree with the 80/20 rule an it looks like you are living proof. I on the hand have yet to find the 20% lol

You get 10k visitors every month and make $50 ? If you use just Adsense, you should be making much more than this.

Thanks, all. I've just taken Adsense & Clickbank off, so we'll see how Amazon does when the 'funnel' is a bit more focussed. Justin Bieber comment is great as the keyphrase isn't a buying keyphrase it's an info keyphrase....which may mean adsense will be better...but I'll play and see.

I agree, something is wrong with your conversion process or you are bringing traffic that is not your target market. The conversion part is much easier to fix, I hope that is what you need to work on.
