You don't wanna pay for, or start programmatically building Web 2.0 links.

You are far better-off just looking at autocompletes, people also ask, and other NLP questions straight from Google searches.
Find those phrases, and use them as titles for your blog posts, answering the questions that people have about those topics.
Long-tail blogging is a much safer, and sure-proof way to build traffic for your site.

After doing that for a while, then you might consider learning how to buy links for some of your more high-performing content.
It's not something you are going to learn to do correctly overnight, because you've got a thousand voices telling you how to view things.
Just keep-it-simple, for now, and spend a as long as you can stand before you start buying PBNs or Niche Edits.
