Broad or Exact?!

When you are searching for keywords then there are 2 choices how you want the aprox. traffic to be shown - Broad and Exact.

Which of those results shows the REAL(most accurate) result in terms of real traffic what can be gained if you have website ranked at no1 place?
I know the clicks to your site won't be as much as the searches done- But at which one I should look at when deciding whatever the keyword have enough traffic or not?

So Broad or Exact?

Exact, definitively.

If you are doing Niche marketing, it really shows what kind of traffic you can expect.
 
no expert but i would say exact...first website i did had huge broad search got on first page and got like 1 traffic a day only pos.4 but when i use market samurai to check exact the result was showing 24 searches a day.

So a keyword that was showing 1k broad a day was only 25 exact.

definitely exact, and you should use MS to do keyword research, it's the best software of its kind at the moment.

Neither. I'd use phrase match and I'd be using Market Samurai too - there are 3 choices in Market Samurai - broad, phrase, exact.

Market Samurai has a column labeled SEOT, that's the approximate amount of traffic you'll receive being ranked #1 for that keyword with whatever search type you have selected. Can't believe no one else posted about the SEOT.

Uhm yeah, ok..
but I was asking BROAD or Exact , If you change those 2 values the traffic numbers for SEOT changes ;)

Hmh, I've just used exact like most here... With phrase match, does anyone know how the results are determined? Is it searches done for the keyword alone, without quotation marks, or can it be part of something else? Like, 'cheap cars' vs 'where can I buy cheap cars because I'm poor'.

I think they were explained in-depth in one of the MS tutorial videos, but I'd really prefer not go through them again for the off-chance of finding that part again.
 
yeah it does. Just select the country you want in the new project window
 
I go off of PHRASE match.

It seems to be the most accurate.
 
Broad or Exact?
What are your objectives?

If you are checking a keyphrase for a short term niche then use Exact match, if you need to check a long term niche keyphrase the only way is to verify Broad match. My match method is based on Phrase match, this gives me a wide and realistic view on users searches.
