Hi bhw member and seo expert,

My website traffic is going down since 6 oct 23. Can anyone tell me why this is happening. Is my website is affected by October 23 broad core update. If it is then how would I overcome from this.

Pls help me.

When was the site created? How many articles total? Does it contain AI generated posts?

If you want, I can take a look at your site and give you some pointers.

It is the after effect of September core update which is still crushing websites. You are not alone.

The website is 15 yrs old and has more than 1k articles.

Yes the website contains 25 to 30 ai generated articles.

I was reading the SEO Journal yesterday from Rustybricks accout and it was quite horrid. It seems there are shit tons of people who have been hit veryy badly with this core update. The worst was a german can who has been running a car blog for over 10 years, his site has over 31,000 hand written blogs and he has lost 70% of his traffic within a few days...

It has gotten to the point where no matter what you do, or what you follow I just believe updates are a matter of luck. You can do everything right for years and then lost your entire income over night

this is no use. Its not a page by page thing. Its entire site issues.. maybe there is not even issues there. Basically you cant do anything and most things you will do will not recover your traffic

Thats not correct.

The thing that has been happening on all my pages is that a lot of specific pages with top ranked KWs have been dropped outside top 100. Its not effecting every page on a site, unless you have like videos on every page. Check your rankings, it should say that you are equal as before, or out of top 100. I havent seen any significant drop in positions, its the same as before, or out of top 100.

Hello Buddy!
It might have Impacted your site. To recover, focus on high-quality content, user experience, and ensuring your website complies with Google's guidelines, as improvements in these areas can help regain lost rankings. Hope this helps. All the best!

Update your content, the average time a page ranks in the top 10 is about 1.6 years.

If your business depends on a few words/pages (pareto law).

Send external traffic to your pages and never let go of your external traffic.

A sudden drop in website traffic around a Google broad core update, such as the one on October 23, suggests a potential correlation. To address this situation and potentially recover lost traffic, follow these steps:

First, confirm if the traffic drop coincides with the update. Check your Google Analytics or other tracking tools for the specific date of the drop.

Review how your website's rankings for important keywords have been affected by the update. Tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs can help with this analysis.

Recovering from a broad core update can take time, and there are no guaranteed quick fixes. The key is to provide valuable, user-focused content and maintain a technically sound website while staying adaptable to future changes in the SEO landscape.
