Hello BHW,

I am facing the issue on the bounce rate sudden drop.

Last month my bounce rate was like 50% and now this month like 2%

I am not able to figure out the exact issue.

Can anyone help me or suggest me on finding the issue.

Thanks & Regards,

2% ? not impossible bud. You would check if analytic code and other things done properly.

2% bounce rate means that all your visitors are visiting subsequent pages on your site - if it's legit, it's something good, and your page's ranking will rise in the process, gradually.
A 50% bounce rate is normal - we all try to get to the 30-50-ish region, which is not too bad imo.
A 2% is unheard of, but still possible. Did you install something on your site that make your visitors visit other pages on your site?

I had install GTM and set event tracking as well. Maybe this will be the reason for reducing bounce rate.

check if u have put google analytics 2 times in the website.

Really want to let you know that it is a very big difference from 50% to 2% and this bounce rate will not be possible with just installing GTM so please check it again and if it is because of that then you should go and enjoy with pitchers of beer

There is some issue in your Google analytics account which was showing wrong data. Spoke to Google Rep. You get the right data.

Hey Gilly
What day did this start? Because the exact same thing is happening on my site, I've gone from around 45-50% bounce rate to 4-6%, it began on the 6th of December and has continued since.
Not made any changes to my analytics code on my site (not duplicated).

The only changes I recall making prior to this were to do with accessibility for screen readers, such as button labels, background and foreground color ratios etc.

I am having this issue from 4th of November. Please check any event tracking you setup through GTM before the drop.

6th of December for me. Literally no changes to our setup, just suddenly dropped overnight. What's interesting is that my Google Organic and CPC have had the biggest drop from 40~% and 70~% to around 6%.
However a good chunk of referral traffic remain unaffected (bounce rates stayed consistent)

I had fixed my bounce rate issue successfully.

That was suggested to me, the google tag I have in place has been unchanged for 2~ years so I wasn't sure how that would be impacting it now, suddenly. I changed the event tracking and left it for a few days, no difference

Pause GTM for now and test one day. Let's see result will be different or same.

Google Analytics is added twice? Bot traffic? It's counting your traffic and attributing it to your bounce rate on GA?
