Ok, want your opinion on this. I bought a mobile phone on DHGate, it was advertised as a Sony Ericsson X10 Experia. I advertised same on egay.

Phone arrives this morning and says Star TV X10 on the box. Which i know is the knock-off version of the Sony.

Ebayer expecting me to post article today.
I have some options:

1. Refund ebayer. (Not really wanting to)
2. Take off surrounding box that says Star TV X10 and try to pass it off as Sony.
3. Should I raise hell from the supplier on DHGate that sent me a Star when he advertised a Sony?

Any thoughts?

Can I ask what you expected from DHGate?

I didn't know any better. Can you suggest a better place for me?

I nearly bought an iPhone from DHGate and it was advertised as an iPhone. Thankfully I got to know the truth on closer scrutiny.

Lesson learnt - If anything looks to good to be true, it is.

Thanks for the advice. Now, should I raise a dispute with DHGate? Payment is in escrow.

yes, raise it as they said it was sony ericson.

But definatly dont try and pass it off on ebay as a sony phone.

Do what the poster said above, and offer refund.

never knowingly sell someone a fake..One wrong buyer could mess up your entire account.

yeah I have. Looked at the prices for the phone that was sent to me instead of the sony and it was about $45 lower than what i paid. Dispute raised.

lol, funny twist in this little story. The seller emails me a picture of a genuine Sony phone box and says he will post the box to me, as he bought it. I'm still saying no ways, want my money back.

if you sent payment via cc, you do a chargeback on it! Why the heck would you buy from a chinese anyway? You know what you expecting when you buy from china! :P

They don't have genuine phones there. Hope you get a refund.

No, I was hoping for a decent enough clone.

Firstly, learn that in china it is very hard to find authentic goods.
and dhgate just always advertise the wrong way.
They just wanna make money from the commissions regardless of anythg.

my advice is, refund the Egay customer.
then, how did you pay the DHGATE fella?
talk to him and say that you will send the phone back to him.
and if he never refunds you, you will do a chargeback.

thats all

The same exact thing happened to me when I just started my exploration into online business. I bought 2 iphone 3g's for $200 each !!! this is when the iphone's were $499 each ! so yea I took a major loss ! I ended up selling one to a friend at work for $20 and the other one I took apart to see what was inside :D ! Never gonna do egay crap again :/ ! if I were you I would start a dispute ! ...JK ! I would take the phone apart!
dhgate is only good for non name brand clothes IMO.

tell the seller to refund you or you will dispute and leave bad feedback. He will refund cause he really has no choice... DHGate sucks, but they do back up the buyer in most cases, especially if the product wasn't as described.

You will never get anything authentic from DHGate. Trust me, I used to hussle clone iPhones on eBay for a good while...I made over 6k-7k a month in it, always had claims/disputes/etc....a few months after I stopped I looked back, and all the money I made (more actually) ended up going back out as refunds and disputes.

Now, hussling on Craigslist, then coming up with some SOB ass story that youre actually a little bit further from them (an hour or so) but that youd be willing to ship it...now that made me some nice $$$ ;)
