Update.

I got an initial "bump" from this linkwheel. Within 5 days, I've been slapped down to second page near the bottom.

Google organic traffic is down 80%.

I won't be doing another link wheel soon.

Dont forget that things are changing in Google at the moment and we are being moved over to the Google Caffine system at the moment. Today a lot of people saw a change again, and after christmas it will be even more of a chage as the new system is fully rolled out.

Have you build any backlinks to your linkwheel properties to help boost things?

I'm afraid to touch anything related to the linkwheel.

Is my time best spent building links to the linkwheel properties to give them PR or should I just ignored them and build quality links directly to the main website?

More than likely Google did place you in its "Google Dance", continue to build those backlinks and get your site right back up there

I think there is a good a bad way to build linkwheels. The same thing applies with SEnuke. You have a better change of building good linkwheels using a VPN and implementing decent content. Use ******** properties and make they are indexed 1st before you put in your "linkwheel links." Use different emails for SEnuke and shorter bursts. The problem I find with SEnuke is that it is limited. You have to use other software to really make a difference. The key I think is getting your web 2.0 property indexed first and using unique content. If they are done correctly there is no way of Google tracing it to your home website.

My sites including my articles, linkwheels and money site are on page 1 and 2 of Google. But i did build .edu and .gov links to all linkwheel properties and articles.

I can verify and second this motion...seriously. Title/H1s are where most of the on-site magic happens.

body text just kinda needs to be natural or whatever...don't sweat it so much...

It really doesn't take long for Google to identify patterns and easily exlude them.. don't use blackhat on sites you want to keep.
