I just noticed that my website does not contain the keywords I bought the link for.
I need to change that ASAP.
Keywords should appear as 1.5% of the content on EACH page of the site, or just 1.5% of the content of the entire site?

they can appear up to 5% for each page last time I've checked.

Don't fuckn worry about stupid keyword percentages..thats SEO for n000bs. Just change site/page title to the exact keyword phrase, nothing else...and just <h1> the keyword phrase. Keyword density of the content counts for shit.
You can pwn the SERPS with this exact code for shits & giggles even though its 100% keyword density...which proves that ppl who quote %'s have never really tested & are just parroting some other n00b

How long have you been out though? It will more then likely come back fairly quickly. Usually i do 3 days of linkbuilding or so. Then i spend 2 days of nowhere to be seen. Then i wake up one morning on page 1.
As for keyword density. I usually dont pay much attention to it nowadays. In the time it takes you to word your article around a 5% density you could have got a dozen backlinks.

This has happened to me quite often too. However, my "money site" is rarely any better or more important than the surrounding sites. If any of them rank, I call it a success, as long as the sites which rank can be converted into sales platforms. Usually, they can. Even wordpress.com and hubpages will take an affiliate link if you use tinyurl and do it right.

Your main site could be caught in the Google dance.
I kind of doubt it. My impression is they offer a temporary boost, then that boost fades. Perhaps you have to just keep doing it over and over, but I have not tested that. I have heard that google has caught on and the wheels are a lot less effective then they used to be.
Is it a new domain? If so you probably build links to fast. Anyway if you get cought in the google dance or even if your site get sandboxed, keep building links and in about 3 month you will suddenly appear on the 1st page

Well if google has taken "steps" it will be included in the new caffeine datacenter update. here the IP for the google servers running the new algorithm of caffeine that will be rolled out after xmas. Run your link wheels thru this and see if there are any changes
