Bought Ahrefs & All backlink profiles are inaccurate?

Hey, I had a question for those who actually have a paid membership over at http://ahrefs.com.

Basically, I bought Ahrefs ($200/mo) so that I could see the backlink profiles of a variety of sites. When I checked all of the sites that I wanted to check, every single backlink profile looked the same. It was all spam, Chinese characters, guestbook stuff. What I thought I'd see were PBN posts and generally high quality domains that look like real sites.

I checked these sites (all of them ranked first) and every single backlink profile of theirs are filled with spam, they all look unnatural. I can't understand how these sites are ranking with unnatural (spam) backlink profiles.However, I don't know exactly if Ahrefs results were accurate. Their profiles can't be filled with only spam backlinks.

I'm not too familiar with Ahrefs since I just bought it today, but I was just wondering if Ahrefs is actually legit or not regarding checking websites backlink profiles?

What you will see is what ahrefs crawlers finds. There is a good chance you won't find a PBN network with it as most of the time they have all but google's robots blocked

Ahrefs is pretty accurate for bl checker. It's actually one of the best crawler out there. And the reason why you can't see PBN link is because they're blocking ahrefs robots.

If you found spammy link profile on #1 google I guarantee that won't last for long.

Ahrefs is a good crawler, but it also doesn't pick up every link out there. I've built tons of good links which never show up, or show up months later. And what the others said, they are likely blocking Ahrefs if they're using backlink crawlers.

I co sign both post above. A good PBN will be probably hidden from crawlers.

Every Crawler bot shows up different result. You can't find any thing Proper with none of those Tools. There are Uncountable number of pages live in the Net and Crawler takes months of time to re-crawl the Pages. That's why it's takes hell lot's of time to show up on the Backlinks. Also in the means time many Pages goes off or either Sites goes down which will not gonna show ever.. This happened more while you use some Spam Domains which accept numerous number of Posts/Comments from Software.. Crawler just crawl them without any priority....

As mentioned above, all tools use different crawling methods & look for different things.

The most successful route is to use multiple tools (Ahrefs, SEMRush, Majestic SEO, Moz/Open Site Explorer etc) & cover all of your bases.
