Hi,

New member here.

I’m quite new to fb ads, I’m noticing a lot of ads that have like a story of 200-300 words with a photo and then a link at the bottom. I’m assuming the only way to do this is by boosting a fanpage post? Unless there’s an ad format I’m not aware of.

However, when I click into the fanpage the boosted post ad comes from, there’s no sign of it. It seems that people are able to boost posts somehow that are hidden from the main page? This is what I’d like to do. I want a boosted post that only shows to the people I advertise to, not to my fb fanpage audience, as it comes across spammy.

What am I missing?
Thanks

I think they're called "dark posts" or something. Just do a Google search on it and see what comes up.

Yeah I read some stuff on it now and heard the system changed on how to do it for ads. From what I read, you need to go to ads manager, go to create ad/adset, click create new ad, and select to create a new post through that part, I did all that, but it doesn’t seem to let me add my actual website link that way.. so it would launch an ad for a boost post only that doesn’t link to my offer url. Trying to figure it out still. So to summarise, I’m trying to create a dark post that has an image, call to action and goes to my offer url. One that I can target as I have the audience list etc ready.

Yeah my clients were mad because of it haha

If you create an ad, you can add any url you want.. so there is no limitation.. Ads are also not in your fanpage.. its an Ad..

it called dark post and its getting popular these days on fb ads
