Boost traffic?

I have very few daily visitors on my site despite all the work I am putting in to sharing it around. I understand it's not an overnight thing. I have a couple bucks to spend and am looking to spend it on ads or something to get more attention drawn to my site.
From experience, what is my best bet on a low budget? I'm not looking to blow $300 and I'm not looking to make $1000. I am looking to boost traffic and maybe get a few affiliate sales.

Note: I am fine with bh methods and have lots of computer experience so no need to break everything down.

Turn your efforts to SEO and to the social media sources. In terms of SEO review your website and input proper content that will help for the indexing. As fro social media it's the best free source of traffic if do it right
