Lots of excellent information in this thread thanks to Scritty! Would love to know though as far as account creation is concerned - which of the MAIN sites are best skipped?
Considering 200 x accounts per MAIN site it would be a waste of time and captchas if there's no point doing this for a couple of these.
This is a tough one. It changes all the time.
For instance, last week I got a ton of emails from Digg saying I needed to re-confirm my account as they were joining forces with another WEB2 outfit and wanted my consent for my account info to be shared.
This basically put all my Digg accounts in the shitter - no way was I going to manually reset up all those email addys and do a double confirmation and questionaire for hundreds of accounts.
Instead, now I wait for Edwinsoft to apdate the BMD app to cope with new digg accounts, buy a few hundred email addresses, and start again.
Delete all my existing Digg's and begin with zero again.
Stuff like this happens now and then. You either roll with it, or start crying.
I tendd to wait a few weeks and then scratch my head, for out a few dollars for a ton of email accounts, and sign them all up to the one that went AWOL (and maybe a couple of other sites I like while I'm at it)
At any one point in time there is always one or two bookmark sites messing with sign up's or submissions or whatever. Adding new accounts is something I just "do" it's part of my process every month or so to review what I have, delete the broken ones, buy emails, and set up more.
I do it in the background while I'm preparing content.
Remember you can import all the email addresses with passwords , POP3's and Ports etc all in one CSV file at the beginning. With that done it's real simple to just click ~"set up accounts" on another email address every 2 or 3 minutes - then at the end of the day, give it an hour for all the confirmations to come in then press the "process emails" button for it to whizz thorugh and confirm all your new accounts for you.
