Bodybuilders' Thread

Can anyone suggest some good vegetarian diet? I have been relying heavily on whey protein for my source of protein since I don't even eat eggs.

These work well http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/groceries/index.jsp?bmUID=1337000911160 5.4g protein and 1.1g carbs per sausage and quorn meat substitute contains all the amino acids found in meat.

Alright, I would try checking out those and might mix those with my current diet which is extremely bad right now.

naaa dude you need 2 grams of protein for every pound so if you weigh 150 you need 300 grams per day and at least 4000 calorie's
daily and don't drink alcohol or drink coffee you will piss out all your water weight before you can gain it its not good to have too much water weight when you feel bloated you have too much

You dont need 300 grams of protein a day, you need a constant supply over weeks/months..

About 150-200g/day max. Your body can only utilise this amount of protein each day, the rest is excreted.

The 1g/lb myth is total BS.

Yes totally agree, also I read somewhere that you body can only use up to 30 grams at any one time so having more than that at any meal is pointless as well.

Nice thread.

BTW, doin IM all day n night sitting at PC is not good for u.

Get to the gym....look after your body....Look after your mind !

:)

<3 Peace

well body building is necessary to keep you life style active but if you dont take diet properly, the consequences become worse!

Well trust me my friend, you have it all wrong. Insulin spike happens after you consume simple carbs post workout. Here we are talking about consuming a protein shake for post workout :)

Lets look at it this way, we all know that carbs are the main source of energy, if you eat them at night and go to sleep, are you going to use that energy? NO. thats why it will be stored as fat.

... You're a true broscientist. I just showed you SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHES done by a certified nutritionist very well known in the bodybuilding/fitness industry to show you what you're saying is totally false and yet you still think you're right and that this certified nutritionnist is wrong?!

You really didn't read any of the articles I sent you because they talked about how insulin spike doesn't mean anything and "window of opportunity" is total bullshit. And carbs at night won't do sh*t, you really think your body is like "oh sleeping time!! let's stop working and store the carbs I just eated directly into my fat cells!!" lol.. No! It doesn't work like that and again, Alan Aragon proved it wrong within the many researches he did.

You know, I don't really care if you prefer to stop eating carbs after 6PM, I mean it's your thing, but don't claim it's bad for you and you will get fat blablabla because this is all wrong and all that matters is CALORIES IN VERSUS CALORIES OUT. That's it!!

You want to lose weight? Reduce your BMR caloric intake by 300/500 calories. You want to gain weight? Same thing but you increase the calories instead. I'm sorry to say that you're just brainwashed like 90% of people joining the bodybuilding/fitness industry. It's a big business after all and there's a lot of money to be made in there so I'm not blaming you at all, I'm just trying to show you this is wrong.

Another myth made by the supplement industries. You would need a lot lot more than 30g of protein in a single meal to have your body "maxed out". Here's an article proving it: http://www.wannabebig.com/diet-and-...ch-protein-the-body-can-use-in-a-single-meal/

Wings[SENSE]: bro in your previous post you mentioned insulin spike after having a protein shake, which I am sure even your brilliant scientist/researcher will disagree on. Anyway, it's always good to disagree :)

Right.. this is the last thing I ever wanted: muscleteen accusing me of publishing "misinformation"

I don't remember accusing you. Can you quote me when I did that? Cause if not, then you are accusing me of accusing you..which is kinda wrong cause I didn't.. :S

As much as I appreciate everyone's effort to contribute in this thread, I'm sad to see that there is a LOT of misinformation going on here.

you sure?

I don't get what you're saying here. I also don't understand how can you disagree something that has been proven useless by scientist/researcher. That's like believing eating apples will cause cancer even after doctors, scientists, etc. all proven it won't.

Anyway, you're free to believe whatever you want tho! :P

That previous article you linked to was very interesting to read.

The long term effects definitely need to be highlighted more than the short term effects as that is where the mis-understanding lies I think.

Well this is my thread, or at least I started it. So whenever you post such general statement, others, including me will believe that you are talking about the OP.
So if you think someone posted incorrect information, quote that, and reply to them.

You have some good points up there, however, I do not agree that there is a "best" way to do anything. It really depends on the person for what kind of diet/plan works best for them and which one they will stick with.

I've been a registered member on BHW since Oct 2008. This never happened before. It's the first time I've come across such a self-centered member who thinks everything is about him.

So if you think someone posted incorrect information, quote that, and reply to them.

As long as I'm not infringing any of the BHW rules, I will be posting what I want, the way I want to. I don't mind a new member giving me advice, but I do mind a self-centered one doing it.
