    Home Page:
    Hi I am starting this thread to share some useful blogger tweaks which can make blogging easy and interesting.

    Here is the First post:

    Set Number of Posts to ZERO in Blogger

    Issue:
    If you click the Edit on the Blog Post option in Page Elements, you will notice you cant set the "Number of post to display on main page" option to 0. When you try to save it a error comes up telling you it cant be done. Well... Why not? It is your blog and you should be able to do what you want.

    Solution:
    First make sure all the options you want on your blog are set up in the Edit on the Blog Post section. After you have everything the way you want it go to Settings--> Formatting--> Show At Most. You can change this option to 0 and problem solved. As long as you don't need to go back into your blog post options then everything will work out. That is why I said to set everything up in there first before changing this. :D:D

    Second Tweak

    Show Post Title First on Search Engine

    If your Blog title appears first followed by Blog post title in search engine ,then just keep reading the post to solve this problem. Before going to solution, I will explain you how this event can make a bad effect on your Blogs or sites traffic.
    Now come to solution. You can do two things:

    Blog Post Title+Blog Title
    Only Blog Post Title

    Determine which one you will follow. I prefer second one (Only Blog Post Title). But I will show you the both process.

    Step 1: Login to Blogger.com

    Step 2: From Dashboard select Layout then click on Edit HTML.

    Step 3: Then search for this tag <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title> . Normally it is located in <head> section.

    Now if you want to show only Blog Post Title then replace the above tag with following code:

    <b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == "index"'>
    <title><data:blog.title/></title>
    <b:else/>
    <title><data:blog.pageName/></title>
    </b:if>

    Or If you want to Show Blog Post Title First + then Blog Title, replace the
    <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
    tag with the following code.

    <b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == "index"'>
    <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
    <b:else/>
    <title><data:blog.pageName/> | <data:blog.title/></title>
    </b:if>

    Now search some posts from your blog on google.

    How to Add More than One Page Gadget in Blogger Blog

    First add a Page gadget to your blog, and than go to Edit HTML and search (Ctrl+F) for PageList1 without checking Expand Widget Templates.

    Once you have found that in your HTML code you might see something like this below.

    <b:widget id='PageList1' locked='false' title='' type='PageList'/>

    Now copy the line you see above and paste it directly below it (copied line). Then Change the PageList1 to PageList2.

    Example:
    <b:widget id='PageList1' locked='false' title='' type='PageList'/>
    <b:widget id='PageList2' locked='false' title='' type='PageList'/>

    Now all you need to do is save and go back to Page Elements. Drag the second Page Gadget to whereever you want. By default it will be right below your previously added page gadget and having all the Pages you published.

    A quick tip is you can use the same trick to add few more gadgets which are already been added such as archives.

    yes we can remove with an ease, Blogger has made it very simple for users to disable comments. From your dashboard, go to "Settings" and then to "Comments." Click "Hide" to make the comment link on your blog posts disappear. You can also filter who exactly is allowed to comment, and who is not, if you prefer to allow friends to comment but would like to prohibit strangers

    First you should add read more hack through which enables next and previous page option on empty home page. You can add the same by following : http://www.bloggertweaks.com/2011/04/automatic-read-more-hack-for-blogger.html

    Now after that Just add a text gadget, title it with Welcome Message, in the sidebar and drag it above body area. Then edit the template, and select "Expand Widget Templates". Note that if you do not select "Expand Widget Templates", you won't see the code, as you need to. Scan down through the template body, and find the new text gadget.

    <b:widget id='Text1' locked='false' title='Welcome Message' type='Text'>
    <b:includable id='main'>
    <!-- only display title if it's non-empty -->
    <b:if cond='data:title != ""'>
    <h2 class='title'><data:title/></h2>
    </b:if>
    <div class='widget-content'>
    <data:content/>
    </div>

    <b:include name='quickedit'/>
    </b:includable>
    </b:widget>

    Add two simple lines of code, shown below in bold red face.

    <b:widget id='Text1' locked='false' title='Welcome Message' type='Text'>
    <b:includable id='main'>
    <b:if cond='data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl'>
    <!-- only display title if it's non-empty -->
    <b:if cond='data:title != ""'>
    <h2 class='title'><data:title/></h2>
    </b:if>
    <div class='widget-content'>
    <data:content/>
    </div>
    </b:if>

    <b:include name='quickedit'/>
    </b:includable>
    </b:widget>

    Save the change. Edit the text gadget as displayed on the blog, and remove the "Welcome Message" title.

    How to Add Meta Tags to a Blogger Blogspot Blog Home Page
    1. Login to Blogger if not already logged in

    2. Navigate to Design > Edit HTML

    3. Back up your template as a precaution by downloading full template to your computer.

    4. Check the Expand Widget Templates box

    5. Find these lines which will be near the top of your template:
    <head>
    <b:include data='blog' name='all-head-content'/>
    <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
    6. Paste the following code immediately below <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
    <b:if cond='data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl'>
    <meta content='Place your blog description here' name='description'/>
    <meta content='Place your blog keywords here(separated by commas)'
    name='keywords'/>
    </b:if>
    7. Enter your blog description between the single quote marks under description. Maximum 150 characters

    8. Enter the keywords of your blog between the single quote marks under keywords. Ensure you separate each keyword or keyword phrase by a comma. Make sure your keywords do not exceed 200 characters

    By way of example here are the meta tags I use for the my blog home page:
    <b:if cond='data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl'>
    <meta content='Find tips,tricks,tutorials,walkthroughs to customize your Blogger Blogspot blog.SEO,Banners,Adsense,gadgets,fixes,feeds,rss,help for beginner bloggers' name='description'/>
    <meta content='blog,blogger,blogger.com,blogspot.com,blogspot,blogging,tutorials,tips,blogger help,customize blogger,SEO,make money,gadgets,Google Adsense,banners, feeds,analytics,solutions'
    name='keywords'/>
    </b:if>
    9. Click on the Save Template button

    How to Add Meta Tags to a Blogger Blogspot Blog Individual Post
    1. Follow steps 1 to 4 as for adding meta tags to the Home Page

    2. Add the following in the <head> section of your Blogger template. Enter this code below the Home Page code above you have just entered:
    <b:if cond='data:blog.url == "http://url of your post"'>
    <meta content='keywords pertaining to your post' name='keywords'/>
    <meta content='crafted description of your post' name='description'/>
    </b:if>
    Here is an example of optimized meta tags for this post:

    <b:if cond='data:blog.url == "http://blogknowhow.blogspot.com/2009/05/add-meta-tags-to-blogger-for-better-seo.html"'>
    <meta content='meta tags,optimize blogger,blogger SEO,search engine optimization, blogspot,blogger,blogspot.com,blogger.com,blogging,blog' name='keywords'/>
    <meta content='Improve SEO by adding meta tags to your Blogger Blogspot blog. Step by step tutorial shows you how to add meta tags to the home page and a single post' name='description'/>
    </b:if>
    3. Add your post URL, keywords and description. To find the URL of your post navigate to the post's page and copy the link showing in the address bar of your browser including the http:// prefix

    4. Click on the Save Template button

    5. To check your description you can use the view source in your browser once you have navigated to the post page or a meta tag analyzer

    Note: This method is suitable if you have a few key posts that you want to ensure you get maximum traffic on. If you have a lot of posts this manual method would be very tedious. I don't know of any automated method or script to add meta tags at this point but I am investigating it and will keep you posted.

    To see your description in action you can either navigate to your blog's home page and click on view source in your browser. In Internet Explorer you will find this option in the view menu. A text document will appear which you can scroll through. You will see your description near the top of the document. Alternatively you can check your description in a free Meta Tag Analyzer tool such as Submit Express or SEO Centro
