Blog Links and ranking drop

I have experienced a slight drop in my main website rankings and I was mainly using Press releases and a combination of wordpress blogs. On the wordpress blogs, I mainly structured them like mini websites to avoid updating them frequently with spun content. I haven't done a press release in a while... not sure if that's the reason. Just trying to see if anyone else has experienced a drop with their wordpress blog or has a different strategy.

Note: I'm going to try to blast another PR and see if it helps.

"Combination of wordpress blogs" - these are self hosted or what? How many did you have and what is the content like? Did you interlink them?

imho if you're creating blog networks for seo you must update them asap

It was a 50% hosted and 50% on the network. I'm linking probably 75% to the money site and the rest to each other. I think the problem is, I'm not updating them frequently. Question, is there an easy to use tool for this? Right now everything is on a master list and I update them manually.

Another note, I noticed when I switched from auto blogs to mini sites, my serp went way up. Not sure if google knew they were auto blogs and I set them up incorrectly, but it definitely helped.

yea.. I wouldn't link them together as well. I would also make sure that they are on different ip's if possible while private registering your domains if you want to be extra safe.

what type of wordpress blogs you are using, There might be any other reason.

So OP please take a look there may be you can learn new things and can improve your blog network power for eg

Interesting that, I use press releases a bit, but I think if I do use them I'll just have 1 link in them from now on, i think you'd probably get away with that especially if it's not keyword anchor and is just to a domain you might still get some juice.
