BlackHat SEO and WhiteHat SEO difference?

I already said use of bots were black hat. The point is that if you MANUALLY create the backlinks, but it looks unnatural, Google will hammer you anyway. Properly structuring a site's elements on-page in order to get indexed at all in the ranking system, is not the same thing as 'optimization' to place that site at the top of the system. White hat tactics that attempt to get, and sustain a high ranking position of a site in the search engines are artificial attempts to get Google to view the site as 'relevant,' and so are also increasingly getting treated as spam.

A whole lot of white hat sites have been recently de-ranked due to the artificiality of their WH SEO, that's just a fact. The most recent changes at Google, and the experience of webmasters of 100% white hat sites that were nonetheless penalized, show that as of now, only sites that appear naturally organized or have natural link growth or authority are supposed to be considered relevant for ranking purposes. The mythical wall separating treatment of 'sanctioned' gaming of the search engines (WH) versus 'unsanctioned' gaming of them (BH) is gone.

This is also incorrect. Proper on-page optimization techniques are not simply to get your site indexed but are an important factor in determining your SERP ranking. Most of these so-called WH sites aren't really white hat at all. Artificial attempts to sustain high search ranking i.e. 95% of link building are by definition not whitehat, there is no sanctioned gaming all "gaming" is unsanctioned. There is no mythical wall there are clear practices which Google tolerates and that which they do not. The problem is that the algorithm can not always distinguish between the two effectively, and that's where we come in. We do blackhat SEO to fool the algorithm into thinking our site is legitimate and naturally ranking when clearly it's not. Not really sure what we're arguing here.
 
i think this is how it splits up

blackhatters:
don't care between white/grey/black hat, it's all the same really, as many have said, once you even "think" about seo you're violating some tos somewhere about organic search, so it's all the same, most blackhatter's do automatic linking and such, and the trend is, this year's blackhat method becomes whitehat 2 years later.

whitehatters:
frown on blackhatters and have the inconceivable notion that they are doing "good" seo, never thinking that seo in general is against every tos, actually white hatters are the ones who like to classify themselves as "whitehat" holier than tho, much like
how at a dinner table you'll have regular ppl(blackhatters who know they are pp) then you'll have that one annoying vegan (whitehatter) who will ask if before the plants were cut off the stem, were they sung to in a happy mood?

the general public:
whitehat is good seo
backhat is evil seo (cookie stuffing/cloaking) (who even does that anymore? a very small percentage)

We have a disagreement over WH SEO being a form of artificial gaming, and whether sites that got hit included those practicing only WH. I think WH is gaming, you don't. I think you are in denial over the fact that WH sites now also get penalized following the most recent algo changes, and despite a zillion threads on this forum reporting this. Google doesn't like optimization, despite much misinformation to the contrary---it likes natural.

If the more careful among us ensure we disguise the SEO (WH or BH) of our sites and links so Google still reads it as natural, more power to them, but this does not change the fact that if the optimization was not disguised, it would be subject to being penalized or de-ranked.
 
White hat seo means proper on page seo, producing high quality content to which people will want to create links. On the other hand black hat seo for the most part means creating backlinks by yourself to manipulate search engine rankings.
