it can, if your private key leaked..
That is why people prefer to have their own personal wallet, where they have total control on the private key.

if it can be 'hacked' it was done ages ago already :D
much better question is that - when will they 'scam' all of us :D :D
you mean someone is operating btc? you mean there are admins of btc?

Bitcoin can not be hacked, the blockchain can not be hacked. Instead, individual wallets or entire online wallets can be hacked. It already happened and it will happen again, that's why it's best to keep all of your funds offline.

If you look over the concerns of quantum computing in regards to blockchain many have discussed it, the 51% hack has been spoken of since day one however, the usual hack is just people being people and either having weak security or literally giving it away to frauds.

Everything can be hacked.

there is no information available for that, so i really have no idea.
only personal wallets can be hacked. That is why it is not recommended to use web-based or phone based wallets.

There was a news some months ago that some robbers were trying to rob a building they thought to be reserve of the BitCoin. They thought Bitcoin is some kind of physical coin like Gold. No doubt they failed and nabbed but the point is Bitcoin can only be stolen either imaginary way by foolish burglars or if you do not keep 2FA or such for your wallet account o_O:anyway:

You are hurt by recent drops it seems?
haha no man, i was curious to know that even bitcoin was not crashed .
and ya next post will be "How i hacked bitcoins and made billions "
:D

Bitcoin can't be hacked, but the person holding some of it can be

Well if Bitcoin were hacked then we'd see it all over the news. Which hasn't happened in recent times. I think it's pretty secure TBH.

More secure than most wordpress installations.

Only wallets can be hacked and there are many instances in the past where wallets with big amount of bitcoins are hacked.

Yes, the blockchain can be hacked, you will need a quantum computer that isn't functional yet to do so.

I understand

The question will be how it will crash?
the only thing that can make btc crash fo real, is if satoshi nakamoto go out on public than start selling his coin in the cold wallet.
BTC overall trend is always bull.

also it's better to learn how cryptocurrency work.
is it possible to hack btc?as is blockchain? yes if you can hack at least 50.1% from total miner in the whole world
and so far no, no pc have that kind of resource, and if they have the total cost to do the hack won't worth it.

thanks for explaining , no doubts :)

There is no single entities running bitcoin but a whole network of peoples, bitcoin is simply a set of rules creating a consensus called the bitcoin network.
It means everyone can participate in securing the network by verifying that everyone is respecting the set of rules, a "hacker" wanting to create new bitcoins would be ignored by the network. A 51% attack means a single entity owns more than 50% of the total "verification" power and thus can dictate new rules

if about wallet, i guess it can, but if btc itself i dont think it's possible
