Hi,

I've redirected about 80% of the old URLs to the new ones (301).
It was about 1 week ago. Now traffic from Bing and Yahoo dropped about 65%.

How long does it take to reindex in Bing and Yahoo. Any experiences? I'm worrying that the traffic will never come back according to some posts I've read.

Typically the old URLs remain in the index while the new ones are picked up from the redirects and the old eventually fall away.

1. Have you manually removed any old URLs from the index?
2. Have you double checked ALL your redirects are working correctly with a 301 header response?

Thanks for the reply,

1. I didn't manually remove URLs from the index
2. I've checked logs and headers. They're correct. Bots receive correct 301 headers.

Is your sitemap correct? Are there any 404s depending on how big your site is? Are the new URLs indexing? You may have to just sit it out for at least a couple of weeks.

In MY experience bing is very slow to crawl sites, helps to re-index them
