The people who would pay for netflix instead of downloading movies are the same kind of people who bought gamestop at like 400$ and then ROBINHOOD disabled the buy option. The type of people who would buy DOGE from ROBINHOOD after elon shilled it.

thats the thing. For me relaxing is reading a book in the forest or watching wilburgur videos in the bath-tub, or gardening.
I cant think of a single car or SUV that i would LOVE to own and spend 20,000$ on.
Nothing gives me the "WOW!" factor.
I could go for some large flashy merc SUV, but the novelty would wear off in days. It's just not worth it. EVERYONE has one.

The only big expense that i actually want is an apartment on the last floor of some new building with sound insulation. Just some place without gopniks, home repair drillers, junkies, music, bikes and so on.

I dont know about the rest of your post but I'm from East Europe and I pay for spotify and Netflix a lot of my friends use such services too

I think you're missing the point.

You can enjoy all of those if you budget it and save/invest.

Budgeting does not mean spending less. It means controlled spending so you have more freedom to enjoy things you like, whether it's Netflix, hiking trip, pet supplies or onlyfans.

Spending on subscriptions does not equal being poor if you lose your source of income.
Not budgeting and saving means that.

For example, if someone has $2000 a month of disposable income (after taxes, rent and bills), if they budget for $500 for food, $500 for fun and $1000 for savings (emergency fund, investment, retirement, etc) they allow themselves to spend those $500 guilt free and without the risk of becoming homeless if they lose a job.

You should spend smart, yes, but you should not cut out all the fun and joy from life just to save $120 a year from Netflix subscription, for example.

Its full restaurant prices which is already way overpriced, + $10/month if you want the premium, +$5-$10 in "services fees", + tax, + $3-6 tip on average.

Your statement is too broad. Yeah, if you can't afford car payments or subscriptions then obviously its an issue. The issue is someone paying for something they cannot afford rather paying for subscriptions in general. So many subscriptions are completely worth the price and justifiable. Someone listens to music 24/7? Of course $10 for unlimited music is completely worth it.

That's a matter of personal preference. I used that as an example, next to hiking, pets, hobby, p0rn, etc.

Oh, and I'm eastern european and I pay for Netflix (4 of us splitting 1 account that can play on 4 devices). It has decent shows besides what you call black washed shows.

Sorry, but that's poor man thinking. Back in the 90s when my mom was working for $2 month of course spending $30 on video game was madness in my mind. Now? I can either download the game from some shitty torrent tracker, lacking multiplayer and support, infecting my computer with god knows what, or spend the $30 that wont make a dent to my budget, at all, and just play the damn game. Not to mention, that I really like being paid for the job I have done. And somehow I think game/movies developers would like that too.

Let me ask you this - once you are pass say $5 000 per month, would you risk to compromise your computer security (and your whole business) to save $10 for a game or a movie?
