Big G turn off "Request Indexing" :( hope this not for good

Bad news, but that is what I predicted, Google will change the way it index links. We have to live with it. SEO will become more whitehat and costly
 
Does it really affect that many of you? I think I use that function like once a year.

Yeah it affect me quite a lot. My site is NEWS website so indexing fast is a must :( beside, on some niche I need to update old content on old post, that need to submit re-index,too.
 
I haven't used that function since 2017-2018.

How long does it take for a new post to index naturally for you?

For News it's nearly a day which is not good. For Updated old post with new content, more than 4 days ~ a week.
 
Now what? Should we use indexing services for indexing pages? Seriously.
 
Well they did say it's probably coming back within a few weeks so why not just wait. Everyone acting like it's permanently gone lol

Mufcukers there are doin it for some reason, ofcourse there will be concern.
 
With request index i would get my posts indexed in a few hours, without it i get them in 1-2 days.
Not much of a difference in my case, but for updating older posts or urls that were 301 redirected, it is a must.
I hope it will return.

I just looked at GSC and the "request index" is still there and works, are they playing with us?
 
They are saying that this will be just for a few weeks but who knows. They have been having problems with indexing for about six months now, if not more with them pushing out multiple "fixes" that have done nothing or made the situation worse. If they remove the force indexing functionality they can just say that the indexing issues are due to slower indexing systems based on their crawlers.

One of my blogs has seen a drop in traffic since they pushed this live too, the article screenshotted below seems to suggest a large number of people are having the same issue too. Not sure if it is an actual Google update or just more issues with the Google indexing system right now though.

It hasn't been working for the last few weeks anyways. This does not matter a lot at all, as your links will get indexed naturally.
 
They earned less money because of the coof and now they cheap out on storage space? How much money did they spend a month on diskspace to index our GSA spamlinks?
