Big drop in views? Even MrBeast lost a ton

I think YouTube is hanging again
Usually on fridays there's a boost in views even if you don't upload but almost all channels im looking lost views. Another example:
Of course there's some that uploaded and mitigated the loss somehow but it seems evident. Wtf is going on?

They are evolving just like Pinterest, Facebook and Google search did.

It can easily be explained; an update to their algorithm. They may have tweaked it, so older videos receive much less exposure. A lot of these views are built on past content.
Most likely, Youtube is favoring other types of videos instead.
Goes to show how your entire "online" career can be destroyed in a matter of 1 update. Always be grateful and never stay comfortable as the space is constantly evolving.

So what the f*ck is Youtube promoting now? MrBeast is family friendly, the other channel is also family friendly.

You can't compare an average channel to MrBeast. The way both of them function are completely different.
But that's a fair analysis where if everyone's views are going down, this is probably a bug that should be fixed in the next few days but if it's an algorithm change then a lot of creators are going to struggle...

There was an update rolled out over a month ago which affected a lot of usual ranking strategies and the implementation of monetization on Shorts and it's still going on. It's just a temporary algorithm glitch that happens with every big YT update every now and then. Sooner of later youtube will be favoring some new kinds of videos and channels to get us back on track.
