BHW slower since new servers?

does it seems to anyone like the this site got slower since they switched over to the new servers?? it isnt just my computer that is slower nor is it my internet connection. I have tried this site an numerous houses on different computers and the site just seems to take longer to load. Either way the wait is worth it!!

Don't have any figures but BHW seems to have exploded in the past few weeks with new sign-ups. Wouldn't have thought it makes much difference to a powerful server but maybe it does.

I'm sure someone with accurate technical knowledge can confirm either way'.

Might only be a coincidence but I do find it a bit slower. Takes me like 2-3 seconds to load each pages
 
Seems faster to me. There's no reason on earth for it to be slower. We went from a dual-core processor with 2gb of ram, to an 8-core server with 4gb of ram and lots of bells & whistles.
 
The forum is going a lot faster for me, also no more database errors or anything in quite a while.
 
Yeah this forum has got faster since the switch. There were some technical issues during the change of servers but its all good now.
 
Before the move, I used to get the occasional database error, but nothing as bad as some people had experienced. After the move, I no longer get the database error, but the site DOES move slowly at times. It will take a few seconds to load a new page/thread, and sometimes it takes more than just a few seconds (I'm talking like sometimes it take about 5-10 seconds to open, and other times like 20 seconds). Right now it's being fine for me, operating normally, and I've noticed it goes in "spurts" of taking longer. When it does, I just hop on over to a news site and see what's the latest thing going on, and come back in like 5 mins.

I do have to say, however, it's gotten a lot better over the last couple of days. Haven't really noticed it much the past 2 days. I just sort of figured it was taking a while after the server move to get everything configured correctly. Glad it's working guys! :)
 
there are still some random issues but for the most part things should work well, there was some serious server misconfigurations that have been fixed in the past couple days, there are still plans of things to tweak and optimize but they are less important since the server is handling the load with ease from everything in the logs here

however if there are any serious issues you notice please report them so we can look into them, wouldnt surprise me if we botched SOMETHING in the move
 
well today it is working great. it must just be certain times when the traffic is high or something. I wasnt saying it was the servers fault, I was kind of curious if it was my ISP (charter).

It usually works for me but sometimes I get database errors

As for the database errors, I use to get those, but not anymore since the new server!!
 
During the move for the first two days I'd get logged out of the site and it would 404 on-and-off but now the site seems to loading and working fine.
