BHW Mods... Please Create an Email Marketing Section (member input needed) -- **READ ME**

Yeah, there is an e-mail marketing section... but it might as well not exist. I actually upgraded to Jr. VIP because my brother who is a Jr. VIP told me there was an e-mail marketing section. It was extremely disappointing when I went to check it out and saw how inactive it was. Everyone needs to go Jr. VIP so we can really kick up the conversations. So if you aren't Jr. VIP, make it happen.

Aww. Its only fo Jr VIPS. I want to learn about email marketing so bad.

Most will have a hard time paying $99 for the Jr VIP membership and prior to the Email Marketing section going away, I'm not sure I would have once it left and I realized that there is no other site with anything close, it was worth more than $99 to me.

Besides that, there are a lot of other good stuff that people put in there that is not open to the public.

Realize it is an investment and a business expense that you can write-off on your taxes --- if you turn them in.

BHW is being held hostage by Spamhaus

I think the circumstances of why the section removal of Email Marketing came to be will always be a mystery. But in event, I concur. Spamhaus is slowly (but firmly) squeezing the balls of anyone they don't like.

...and that's partially why. 90% of the people that previously posted in the old section have know idea that it's only available through a VIP membership. Most won't pay because they simply can't afford it and the quality/quantity of the information will suffer as a result.

Bottom Line: It will never be the same.

I am optimistic that Diamon Dameon will make the right choice and make it open to all members. I'd prefer it be in Jr. VIP than no where at all, but you are right, as long as it stays in there, it will not be the same.

The old forum still have a lot of good data in there for people starting out but I keep getting sucked into replying to threads from 2011.

Again... I'm being optimistic. Honestly, I haven't seen much of a difference in what is posted about email in Blackhat SEO (today) than in the old Email Marketing section (from 2011).

We are all open to rules and restrictions. I just hate to see that portion of BHW dead like it is. I make ALL of my income from legit email marketing and to not be able to discuss it with fellow members and help steer them in the right direction is unfortunate.

I agree. Perhaps we could outline and forward a proposal to Spamhaus. They could open up their own 'email marketing forum' (the only one online) and censor out individual posts from users as they see fit - and obviously do this based on their own rules (or feelings).

Could it be a good idea to publicly provide a strictly white hat email marketing section? A lot of the information that one learns from double-opt in and 100% compliant methods would be useful in black hat and grey hat contexts, with some small adjustments in some cases. Server setups, conversion optimization and techniques for bringing in subscribers would be useful for everybody, and most importantly, it should offend hardly anyone's sensibilities. Naturally, less orthodox techniques should always be confined to VIP areas.

It could also be strictly regulated in that it is very well understood that moderators and administrators are allowed to modify and delete any posts due to the sensitivity of the subject. Combined with a moderate post count requirement, we could have some pretty awesome discussion while minimizing potential moderation requirements.

This has probably all been considered, but it's just food for thought.

Are there no other sites out there that discuss Email Marketing on the web? Its something that I am starting to dive in to, and I just want to read as much as possible on the subject while making mistakes on the fly.

How is this email marketing vip section section looking now? Does it have all of the old threads/posts? If so it may be worth upgrading.
