Hi,

I come here because I want to report and getting feedback of users.

I always who know me, I always gave good feedback, helping users in specific category in this forum and also others.

BHW have a rule that doesn't make any sense, I swear to god, they need to remove or wipe 90% of posts of that category, if they want to apply this rule.
And even considering delete that category...

What you are talking about?
I'm talking about this rule! (click in image to see)
ff22.PNG

This is the rule:
«12. FOR SALE/SERVICES SECTION.
... No selling, offering your services or WTB (“want to buy”) threads outside of this forum without written Admin permission. Members that ignore this warning will be issued an infraction or banned without notice at the discretion of the admin team. »

Look at this category:
https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/web-hosting.94/
90% of this content and threads should be deleted to follow that rule and look title of threads!

Why this RULE is BAD?
It is ruining all users with sanctions and warnings. Without sense! Yes you hear right!

Do you know where this rule is applied? You heared right, in Web Hosting a category which is supposed to help users and make recommendations. This can be read in the description of the category itself. And moderators are giving sanctions and warnings to me and other people. It's ridiculous, just ridiculous. Even if no links are posted, you are still sanctioned and warned. This forum is getting worse!

The administration itself ruining its own category!

What does that mean? Simply if you write I recommend "hostingXorYorZ" you may be warned for recommending something that is described in the description of the category itself, this "Where to buy" is the description of the category, read carefully.

It's ridiculous, this is getting worse. I don't even want to post anymore. And users are increasingly moving away from these categories. Moderation needs to review this and well! This is BHW, now it looks like WhiteHatForum, where we are censored for helping and even if we don't "advertise" we are punished for recommending just for writing the name! Read the description of the category and you'll soon understand! It's just ridiculous.

Now for example (I mention some users to give their opinion based in this rule and because they participate in this category)
@Gogol
@remeser779
@CyberCommander
@RoiBox
@Uncle Muriko
@ghost666

The administration is getting heavy and with that it will lose users. It's sad and ridiculous, because the category description itself nullifies the applied rule and warnings in the accounts of those who help! If you read the forum rule, then most posts in that category and most topics would have to be deleted because none almost meet the rules.

What do you think about this? Keep it up!

I love BHW on the weekend. This isn't the way to go about it.
David is a pretty cool dude behind the scenes, so your best bet would've been to work it out with him directly.

I'll review your claims and respond here in a bit. For now, I'll leave the thread open.

All I have to say on this matter, is that recommending a business that you do not own or have any affilation with, should not be punished, it goes for all categories. People are recommending all kinds of stuff, that is how we learn from others mistakes in this forum.

Your posts makes it sound like this is a recent issue, but you've been warned for promoting Alexhost for years now with a rule that's been enforced since the forum started.

How did you come to this percentage? If you have data to suggest that 90% of the content is in violation of rule 12, please forward it to support.blackhatworld.com.

This rule is applied forum-wide, not just in that particular section. Warnings for rule 12 violations are only given out in cases where a user is selling or advertising outside of the marketplace. In your case, if a moderator sees you have a warning history of shilling for a specific web host, you're going to get a warning to discourage you from doing that again.

There's also a sticky thread in that section from 2017 telling users not to sell or advertise in there: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/this-section-is-for-discussing-web-hosting-only.973329/

This is an oversimplification of why you received your warning. Recommending a web host based on your research or your buying experiences is fine, shilling for a web host is not.

I'll be honest with you, after seeing your previous warnings, posting history, and your inbox where you're telling everyone to go to Alexhost; I would've thought you were shilling, too.

Again, how do you know users are increasingly moving away from these subforums? Do you have data for this as well? By data, I don't mean a couple of conversations with JoeBlow69 and MamaWrecker2013 who got infractions for shilling; I mean statistics on the number of posts, threads, and active users in that section over a period of time.

I will say that perhaps you are right about the subforum description needing to be rewritten to say something more along the lines of "Discuss who you feel has the best deals, servers, etc based on your buying experience. No shilling, please". The team will review these subforum descriptions at a later date.

In the future, please refrain from complaining about an infraction in public, as this is also against the rules as stated here and the quote below.
MOD SURFING / ABUSE:
The following counts as mod-surfing and will result in your account being infracted or banned for mod abuse:
  • Sending the same PM to multiple mods
  • Asking the same question multiple times to get a different answer
  • Trying to jump queues by emailing or Skyping mods
  • Asking mods to remove another mod's infraction
  • Complaining publicly about a specific infraction or mod
I'll cut you some slack and give you a pass on it just this once, but I do need you to be aware of this.

If you'd like to forward any data you have or if you have any other concerns, please open support ticket using support.blackhatworld.com.
