If I hired someone and found out they were 17 - I'd quit working with them right away. For starters, I wouldn't want to deal with kids because of immaturity and mindset. Biggest reason also is the legality of it and while the kid may be fine with it - their parents may not and get involved causing you a big big headache.

I was amazed about the ages here.. 16, 17 etc. pretty early starters.
My advice - be honest in everything you do and play smart - trust but check out some background.
And never try to intentionally harm people, what good does it do ? Falling on the same level.

Even with the bad foot me and hexalor got off to in this thread I have to agree with this. If you only treat marketing as some online hobby thats all it will ever be. You should treat it like you would treat any other business because it is a business, I dont care what other people say it is a legitimate business.
Yer, I guess your right there are no mature 16, 17 year old kids but as soon as they turn 18 there responsible adults. /sarcasm

I clearly posted that far before you posted your last post. You have a pretty good attention to detail yourself.
And Mark Zuckerberg and Max Levechin are shitty examples. You basically just cited 2 stories that come along with as equal rarity as winning the lottery. Make money online to your most average internet user is probably something many have looked into at one point in their life, only to come across a shitty site where you need to pay an initial $65 before you can start "making money online". And that is, indeed, quite shady.
Sorry if I offended you with the whole 16 year old moving out - in the US, when someone "moves out" at age 16, it's generally b/c they are rebelling against their parents, which coincides with schooling. I guess it's a different thing in the UK.

I personally have nothing against anyone under 18 on this forum. I think it's more the type of person who writes at thread like this one.
They treat this site like it's a bunch of people sitting around ready to scam people.

Who gives a fuck what other people think? Why don't you just assure them it's all legal and get on with it. It pays the bills and more. If they want to go into a 9-5 and struggle to pay the bills each month then that's down to them. All the big companies are "shady" and anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant.
You should buy a copy of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and give it to your parents to read. They will soon get off your back.
You don't really know what you are talking about. Stop while you're ahead and go back to having trouble getting paid.

Grow some balls and quit bein so scared of your parents. You made some LEGITIMATE money online and it was completely LEGAL so why are you so scared to have your parents find out about it? Especially since you're 17 years old, not 11.
If you want to fall into the deceptiveness of what your mom is trying to push onto you (get good grades, get a degree, get a job, live happily ever after), then go ahead. I honestly don't understand why people still to this day think that's the only way to live and if you don't follow that exact lifestyle you will never "go anywhere in life". It's so far from the truth it aint even funny.
Also, who cares what the rest of the world thinks of us. Quit worrying about what other people think of you and quit doing things to please others. Please yourself first, that's all that matters.
I understand your mom wants what's best for you, but take this as an opportunity to educate her on what's possible with the internet so she understands it better. Like Meathead said a few posts up, get your parents a copy of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and have them read it. Hopefully that will help them comprehend it better.

And you are not making a good impression to anyone here on bhw... if you want to stay here and learn for a while you should change your attitude. Firstly maxed out, means hes used up his debit limit. Effectively he woes a lot of money.
Heres a few solutions to you problems.
- Bank wire.
- Get a PO box for a few days.
- Send it to someone older who you trust.
Heres some excuses:
- Say the tax department is hitting me hard and I want to keep the money virtual.
- That particular method feels unsafe!

Have him use Green Dot. They sell them at CVS, WalMart, Meijers. He can go in there, pay for what he owes you, send you the Green Dot Number...then you can have it put into your Paypal acct. Its instant and only costs him $4.64 each time.
I use it for adding Paypal since I had my Paypal acct charged back fraudelently. I keep very little money in there...and if I need more..I go get a Green Dot.
