Hi,

I'm from Pakistan and I've been a long time BHW user but lately, it's been a bit of pain to login to my favorite forum few times a day because every time I have to turn on a vpn to do so. It might not seem like a big hassle but it's annoying. I know Pakistani traffic isn't fiscally very great for BHW, lol but I'd appreciate if admins can look into that geo block.

Cheers

It is not BHW actually.

We've been banned from some of the ISP's in Pakistan (again - happens every few years). If they are on the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited ISP or another in the punjab that we're trying to work out who - it appears as unable to connect. Others give the following error.

VPN's work fine. We're working on a solution.

Submit a request to your ISP for access https://pta.gov.pk/en/consumer-support/complaints/complaints

I also block traffic from Pakistan and few other countries in one of my websites. Although my traffic is not international, releasing this geo block would increase the work of my server and the firewall.

I don't know if it's worth for BHW to make changes about it, but there are plenty of ways to make you access the forum easily (such as setting up a proxy that only works in a specific domain). Best of luck!

Proxies won't work for this purpose, because it's not BHW, which is blocking the OP (his ip or country), but his ISP blocks BHW as BTB explained it above. OP requires a solution with traffic encryption, which is provided by VPNs. ISPs can't block, what they can't see.

BHW ad revenue is CPM based, while I'm not thinking from an advertisers perspective, but as far as I know, more visitors they get, they can serve their ads quicker.

That makes sense. The site must be blocked via PTA (Gov body), banning sites is what gets them tingling. I hope they come in their senses because it's very daunting to use VPN especially when I have some other proxy sensitive sites opened.

Thanks for the quick reply, Greg.
