I just posted a wtb thread a short bit ago. Got this message within minutes.

You can tell instantly because of the injection of my Post into his message, and what I was looking for this is an automated spam post in BHW. Ive already reported the PM. But just thought people should be aware of this to prevent being scammed by unreputable accounts on BHW. If you get messages like this, you should report them.

This should be in the methods section... Just kidding. Good find. Must be new as I've posted a few in the past and never noticed anything like that. A good reminder to use the report button when you see something fishy on a post or in a PM.
 
The conversation starter in that PM just went on vacation for a few weeks and for some crazy reason all the conversations he has started have seemed to disappear... imagine that.

Yeah it's like the thread earlier where a newbie caimed she'd been scammed by 2 members on here and was thinking about doing a shitlist.
Neither those members were JrVips or above so should not have been selling and the buyer should be given infractions for buying of these so called scammers.

Is it against the rules for me to offer my services to people just because I'm not JR.VIP?

You can offer what you want for free ( ie give it away for free ) but you can't sell, tout for business or attempt to do anything like that.

I can't PM them offering to fix their problem for a cost?

No.

Should you respond in any way you will be banned for some time if not on a permanent basis.

You cannot respond via PM, Skype, Email, Smoke Signal, Snail Mail, Courier, Telepathy or any other way.

Yes? And yet I did it before and wasn't caught. But I will not anymore, because I didn't know this rule.

It's not really enforceable at all either way.

I appreciate that... I am not a fan of banning people especially if I think they are decent guys.

I ban no less than 15 people a week that do that so it is enforceable.

But that is not a concern for you since you have already stated you won't do that going forward.

Check your outbound messages when you have a minute.

That is part of the penalty of trying to sell without going through proper channels.

It beats a ban I am sure.

Go take a minute and calm down. This is a great forum to be a part of. The best im forum around. You seem like a genuine person so go calm down and come back and move on from this and make some money
