It's that kind of thinking that has allowed him to do this for years. The eBay account holder is responsible to the customers. This scammer is accountable to the eBay account holder. He took money for products he didn't deliver. That's a crime in the State of NY. Theft by deception is still theft.

I don't let thieves off the hook. I'd have this guy's info and file letters and contact the PD. If they all ignore the evidence then I'd do an asset evaluation and if he owns a home, property or has a job I'd hire a local Attorney in the State of NY to file civil suit. I don't let scammers off the hook because it's a little difficult to do the right thing. I'd be the last fuker he scammed I'll tell you that.

This guy has been doing this for more than 3 years because people listened to your advice. I'd shut him down if that were my money involved.

I just looked up "Mr. Sparkles" on Google and would like to proudly announce that he has been caught!

He scammed me last month and I reported it to the police. If you want to get your money back, call (516) 573-6153.

I'm SOOO happy that my effort didn't go to waste. Also, make sure you have documented information about what happened to you when you talk to the detectives so you can get your money back.

Since I'm a new member on the site, I can't post the url but look for "Ruben Segura brooklyn" and you will see the NY 12 Brooklyn Police Report with the information you need.

A Brooklyn man was arrested Monday after he hired a broker to sell cameras on eBay
and then never sent the cameras to the buyer and left the broker to dish out refunds,
Nassau County police said.

Ruben Segura, 22, was arrested by detectives Monday morning at 7:20 a.m. inside his
home on Jamaica Avenue and charged with third-degree grand larceny.

Police said the arrest stemmed from an alleged scam in which Segura hired a 22-year-old
man to sell camera for him on eBay. Segura reportedly met the man after posting a listing
March 1 on Craigslist, where he said that he was looking for someone to sell the camera online,
cops said.

The man followed the directions and sold the two cameras on eBay for more than $4,600.
He then transferred the funds to Segura?s account and never heard from him again, police said.

The online seller was contacted by the people who purchased the cameras on eBay after they
never received the merchandise, detectives said, noting that the hired middle man then
attempted to contact Segura, but all of his attempts were unsuccessful. Eventually, he gave
up and repaid the buyers with his own money.

Police soon became involved and detectives launched an investigation, locating Segura
at his Brooklyn home on Monday. He was taken into custody without incident.
Segura is due to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Anyone who feels that they may have been a victim of Segura is asked to call
First Squad detectives at 516-573-6153.
