I wish to warn everyone about mr sparkles. if this thread is in the wrong place please move it or take it down as im sorry.

I went in with him (as i assume many did) with his 20% keep in ebay products. seemed to be ok at first, contact was regular.

Once they sold (and the money went to his paypal my first mistake) i received maybe 1 email then nothing (this was a week ago).

I have not heard anything from him, tried private messages, emails to the email he gave me, emails to the paypal email he gave me. Nothing.

So in short, not only have the buyers NOT got the items, not only have i not got my 20% but im stuck with bad ebay feedback and a huge $600 ebay fee based on final value of the products.

    STAY VERY CLEAR OF HIM

i have since told the buyers to raise a claim through paypal but i fear based on mr sparkles other posts that he has already run off with the money (getting people to accept money on paypal and then wiring the money instantly to him)

Not sure how this will end as i really dont wat to go to prison for this guys wrong doings and dont have $7000 to pay back the buyers.

So not only am i struggling to get by as it i now have all this happening, if i can save 1 person from dealing with this guy it will all be worth it.

That's very unfortunate to hear. I have always seen those threads and always felt that was exactly what those types are planning to do. I personally think those commission based eBay threads shouldn't be allowed, as there is no legitimate reason they couldn't sell them through their own account and keep the commission themselves. Being too busy is a load of hooey too. With that kind of rate, he could have hired a local and paid $300 a week, still making hand over fist.

The first thing you need to do is get PayPal on the phone and tell them what's going on.

You hit the nail right on the head.
It was exactly as I was going to say before I scrolled down and reached your post.
We've seen far too many of these scams and it's time for these threads to be banned.

Totally agree with marusia and oxonbeef regarding banning threads looking for 'ebay sellers'.

thanx everyone. I have cancelled my auto payment through ebay as i dont have the money and will talk to them. I will also give paypal a buzz and see if they want to know anything.

This kind of thing is unreal. best case im out $600 worse case prison (oh i hope not)

the other worst part is i dont know enough on IM yet to make that kind of money fast :( at my current rate maybe by the end of the year. well time to go to my work and spend 12 hrs there and 3 hrs driving there.

thanx again all that responded (ps to the mr rainbow and mr unicorn thing, dont get me wrong if it wasnt me that started the thread I would have laughed my arse off)

You're not the only one scammed by this asshole. I accepted payments through my PayPal account & forwarded him the money. (I know, pretty stupid on my part but he promised a commission and I really needed the money.) Paypal froze my account asking for tracking numbers. His response, (his real name is Ruben Segura, by the way, he lives in Brooklyn NY, I know that much because that's where I sent the money,)

Now I have Ebay buyers threatening to report me to the police for fraud, because this asshole scammer never sent the merchandise after I sent him payments for it. What can I do?

It's ironic how much he stressed "I need to make sure you're legit and trustworthy blah blah blah."

He has a rather unique name. I did just a few Google searches and found he pulled similar scams at DP at least twice over the last few years. With the way Google and social media works these days it's not difficult to do a bit of due diligence before getting involved with someone.

The good news he's in the USA and with probably a paid background check you could have all his shit in an hour to hand over the his local PD. Save all your communications with him about your contract and hand it all over to his local Police to have him prosecuted. Also report him to any other legal authority you can find. He's been scamming for years. Most likely because nobody really digs into his information and goes after him.

Never put your ass on the line for someone else; I guess that goes without saying. This SOB has ruined your name and if it were me personally, I live about 13 hrs from Brooklyn and if I found his information, I'd be there with the Brooklyn Police when they look him up.

I'm not going to post a dp link here but search for member "some guy" over there and you'll see he's very active and pulling this same shit. Same guy and you could probably glean some more info about him from there. I hate scammers.

Who cares if you get his info? The people who got involved with him are the ones going to be held responsible. It's their account they were using to sell the products, not his, so they're expecting products from YOU. This is what happens when something is too good to be true. And yep, this is the USA, he's going to be fine. The local PD won't give two shits, why? Because it's not likely they'll even understand what you're talking about. He wasn't selling mass amounts of counterfeit/replica products, he's not hacking any .gov websites, he's a very small target in regard to internet crime.

Why do you think PayPal is so serious when items don't appear to be shipped? They want to make sure you're not running a scam. Why do you think he can't do this himself? He's running a scam.
